I'd really like to share this song with you

Hi everyone,

This song was written and recorded back in 2001 soon after 9/11. It was written as a tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11.

In 2011 we were approached by a charity in the US to be part of a fund raising drive to the children who were orphaned by 9/11. They wanted to use the song in this drive.

We offered to rerecord it and basically allowed them the use for whatever they wanted.

I have now found out that this fund drive is now over and the track can be made available. it will appear on our next album entitled "Cast in Stone". The name of the band is "Off the Edge".

Once again, everything was recorded in Sonar X1 and mastered in Adobe Audition 3.

The link for the rerecorded version: https://soundcloud.com/peter-john-hanmer/remember-september

There is also a "live and unplugged" video on Youtube which was filmed back in 2004.

Youtube link for the "unplugged" video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDSoEEk8A6I&list=UUVpiiM9h1LvKhKjTBCL6YBg&index=1

Cheers,

Peter.

listened to the track and was so inspired i checked out the video as well.
ive listened to alot of tunes and made alot of comments in this forum.
that song is got to be in the top 10 best.

of course my songs are 1 through 9.

im usually very critical...i got nothing man, great song.
at one point i thought one of the notes in the soundcloud track was falling a little out of key(on of the sustaining notes) but apon further review.
    it sounded right on man.

i made a few comments on soundcloud to,there are some really cool elements in that version.the effects on the vocal are so subtle they work perfect.that takes pin point peresicion.

    Thanks for listening everyone.

@Charlie, thanks for leaving your comments on Soundcloud too. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The audio from the live footage was taken straight from the desk so it was all we had to work with. Came out ok though.

@CLEAN. no I'm not the singer. His name is Clint Cunningham.

Yeah, I listened to the studio version and am now watching and listening to the video.  This is top notch stuff.  Great song, music and off the chart vocal.  Did I hear a keyboard in the live version?  I couldn't see anyone playing one.  Regardless, you are a very talented guy/group and I hope you go far.

This is a very well composed song. Not a style of music I enjoy, but there is no mistaking the skill.

    Hi Warren,

Thanks for the comments and for listening. Yes, you heard right there is a keyboard pad running with the track. This was the first time we tried the song in a scaled down way so we just had a simple pad to help supplement the backing. The "scaled down" version was such a success though that now we play it that way at all of our shows.

@foxwolfen, thanks for listening. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

    Cheers,

Excellent bit of writing! I love the song. Very emotional. That's how I felt while I sat in horror that morning with my wife and our 2 month old son.

It prompted me to learn why anyone would want to do anything like that. What I learned was more devastating. (blowback)  "if you want to stop terrorism, stop doing it." (Noam Chomsky)

    Excellent!! Kudos for great work!!

As I wrote this, the next song is a great rocker!!!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Very Cool ...I actually liked the video better because your voice had a rougher smokier quality to it than the studio recording. Still liked both though.

This sounds fantastic! I love the song and all of the performances. The mix is nice too. Sounds like it could have been a song by the Outfield.
