I'm in love with the "rustic" desk.

Was that a custom ordered 4'2"x2'4" table top?

They all run VST?

Some better than others, or so I'm told.

It's symmetrical (well the numbers are).

Wouldn't something fractalcal sound better?

I'm thinking of buying a big LCD screen and in-setting it down into the surface of what ever desk I end up with so that it doesn't mess with the sound too much.

best,
mike

Sounds like a pain the neck to me. Always looking down.

Oh wait, if you use your ears why do you need a screen?

And then there's the cutting up of the desk (and throwing away the scraps). That seems environmentally irresponsible to me.

If you use a blow torch to cut the hole there are very few scraps.

Sort of... I've been calling it a "art project".

It's not gonna last too much longer.

I kinda wish my wife had told me to comb it or sumthin.

A blow torch uses a very large carbon footprint, yes?

I can't comment on stress but that little girl in your avatar, Mike, is cute as a button.  She'd put a smile on even the worst day.

ya... I'm still learning.

This was one of those gigs where I explained to the band that I have Pro Tools Native running but that I prefer to work in SONAR.

At some point during the mix when I was doing some comping and effects patching, one of the guys exclaimed something like "Wow, I see what you mean; you can't work this fast in the other DAW".

3 days tracking at 64 sample buffer and 2 days mixing at 512 sample buffer without a single glitch.

Good times.

best regards,
mike

And I'm safe in assuming this miracle happened using 8.5, yes?

Regards, John
