I'm loving it :-)
Live NFL from Wembley Stadium on Channel 4: Minnesota Vikings -v- Pittsburgh Steelers It was so refreshing to watch 90,000 spectators at a 'football' game respecting the National Anthems. And we were even treated to Gene Simmons singing The Star Spangled Banner The only thing I can't fathom is how you regular viewers Stateside put up with all the stoppages and advert breaks in the TV coverage. As I type, the game actually started 33 minutes ago, and they've only actually been in live play for 11 of those minutes. Good stuff though.

That's why I can't ever watch it. Drove me nuts last time I tried - they would move about 10 feet forward and then the experts would spend the next 3 minutes talking about it and then it was ad break time. I concluded that most Americans must have a very short attention span. oh look a squirrel...........

Football? Football? Football? WTF is happening with X3? I''m not a sports fan but I assume the commercials (adverts) are for going to the loo and grabbing a jar. Not sure if chatting up some birds is involved.

I watch TV sitting on a porta-potty next to the fridge. Birds don't seem to wanna talk to me. I don't need no stinking commercial breaks !!

I always knew you was a class act mate Another question for the knowledgeable - why don't they pass the ball occasionally, like in rugby?

The breaks allow us to get beer or becan. Later on, they give us a chance go to the loo and/or get refills.

They need to have all those adverts because the $100 per ticket is not enough to pay the salaries of all the people involved in entertaining you. I am glad you liked it though. I didn't start watching football until a few years ago. I can't sit through a whole game but I like watching parts of a lot of games.

SteveStrummerUK ... The only thing I can't fathom is how you regular viewers Stateside put up with all the stoppages and advert breaks in the TV coverage. As I type, the game actually started 33 minutes ago, and they've only actually been in live play for 11 of those minutes. ...
It's the perfect TV game ... you get all the details that soccer won't allow you to deal with, and supposedly hurt the game. It hasn't hurt the NFL one iota ... and it is more competitive than ever. You get the replays, and you get to see everything, and the referees use instant replay just fine. Soccer, and Fifa, could learn a lot from the TV side of this game ... you don't have to stop the 45 minutes thing, but there is a lot you could do to help the game ... but in general, a one minute stop at 22 or 23 minutes would likely speed up the game more and take the teams out of their bunker mentality sometimes. Also the rules for instant replay are not that big a deal, and usually only one or two affect the timing of the game. Other than that, it was nice to see Adrian Peterson run a muck. These days I don't root for anyone much, and I used to be a Raiders's fan, but the team has become so bad, that I wish there was some relegation so I would not have to watch it! But the team that is playing really well these days is the Seattle Seahawks. Well, the Portland Timbers are not doing too badly, either! But they need a couple of wins badly!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
