I've Always Said An Iphone or Ipad Is A Great Mobile DAW.

This guy made a whole song, vocals and all, using just his iPhone and guitar. The video should give you an idea of just how powerful a mobile DAW an iPhone or iPad can be.

    Sounded amazingly good for what it is...
    Modern day equivalent to what many of us had in a 4-track or 8-track porta-studio (back in the day).
     
    My vocal instructor and his songwriting partner use iPads to record records.
    Note, they don't edit/mix their material.
    The iPads are just used to capture the tracks (using external mics/preamps/etc).

    yeah, i have the ios daw "auria" which is incredibly powerful all things considered, all for the price of a reaper

    But please do not forget the price of the device... for which you can get a normal notebook with normal DAW

    it's a v1 ipad air, gifted by work who were starting the whole byod thing, and only wanted to support apple (ffs) but i found a use :-)

    Haven't watched a TRR video in... years! Enjoyable to see he's still trucking through, and even more impressive to see him doing an entire recording and mix on something like a smartphone!!!
