IDEA... Shoot off videos.

Set up a room with two computers, one with Splat one with Pro Tools everything else same audio change, same mics...
hit records on both. before mix compare sound (test 1.)
Test two mix both projects the same...

It's TIME!

I'm so sick of people wanting to work with me then find out I'm using Spalt and run away!
I'm just about ready to start renting PT just to get people to work with me, No, I am going to get it next time someone asks me what I use... and that suck!

Hay look,
Somethings are not locked in stone... lol 3/18/2019

Ah yes, the over-informed client.  You should ask them why PT is so important to them.

Then you might ask them who their favorite band/record is from the pre-2000's and then ask them what kind of console it was mixed on.   Chance are, they don't know.  Then you can explain to them, that their fans won't know or care what software their song was recorded or mix in.

Do you have a portfolio of songs that you have recorded/mixed in Sonar?  That is the best example of what you and the software can do.

I have been recording only demos for the last maybe 10 years and only just got into completing songs or should I say 1 song. lol That's why I'm looking for people to work with.
I really would like a studio band of folks but it's a catch 22. Need the cash to pay for help or gear... so.
and I live an hour from the BIG CITY... there's that... of course then you add old guy... waa waa waa... like I care.
I just keep moving forward... with my Splat!!!  :) I would really like to see that shoot off!

    Peace!

    It is shoot out.

Ask your client what kind of font their printer prints.  It is a nonsense question, same as whether PT or SONAR can record better X's and O's.  The digital sounds exactly the same from the same converter.  Tell them that digital mixing in SONAR uses 64-bit processing; better than PT.  And you can print (and import) to PT - the only difference for them is your familiarity with SONAR, which can do everything PT does.

The only real advantage (other than engineers) to PT is the hardware acceleration which helps with latency, but most home studio guys haven't bought into that.  And your latency w/ SONAR is only XXX so the client wouldn't notice any difference.

Musicians (clients) aren't usually very sophisticated when it comes to engineering and all they know are buzzwords.  PT is the standard in the majors.  All they need to know is Cake is compatible with PT (or reel to reel for that matter, but they don't need to know how).

there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
