IK Multimedia - Now ARC & T-Racks 3 are 64 bit too
The topic says it all. That's Amplitube 3, ARC and T-Racks 3 now - All with significant updates to functionality and updated to native 64 bit. 2 New T-Racks modules as well which sound superb. Black 76 pre amp and the White 2A Preamp. I'p'm not spruiking for IKM just excited that they are moveing more and more toward native 64 bit. It seems that now with every update there's the inclusion of 64 bit. I imagine it wont be long before their soft synths are 64 bit as well.

backwoods Terribly sorry to major in trivial corrections... but why is this posted in the Sonar forum? We all use various plug ins and when an update becomes available, especially an update to 64bit, it is great when someone gives a heads-up on their availability. This is one of the great secondary functions of this forum.

OK lorneyb2, I know that I really grate on people when I point out what I consider misplaced posts. I reckon I'll be the first person banned from the forum trying to bring order to the Universe (and within the rules too). Don't I have a legitimate point? There is a software section in this forum.

For anyone running x1 under 64bit or Windows 64bit even with 32bit any update info is valuable to many forum members. Sure it is would also fit into software category but it still has significant value to general members using the plug in without having to go through every forum category to learn something new. Besides, how long does it take to read a forum subject, 45ms. If the subject is not of interest to you, don't open it.

Maybe perhaps everything should be posted in the Sonar forum then- just don't read it if you don't want to? No thanks, I'll continue my crusade against entropy (but at irregular intervals) until I'm banned. People might refuse to open the threads to which I've responded which would also serve my manifesto. (Just joking, sorry to destroy your fun- but there is a software section) Edit: response to below- Mudgel has five and a half thousand separate posts which suggest he is not a newcomer. Also, he was not asking a question. I just think it is polite to think where a post woould be best placed before posting it. If you get offended or intimidated by that- I don't care.

Your "pseudo policing" not only is non constructive but also has the effect of intimidating new members who have asked legitimate questions in both forums and have not pursued their question because of your personal quest for organization and exactitude. You have 97 posts and a significant number of those have been to offer your opinion on the validity of a post being in a particular forum. The purpose of the forum is to help users, not to intimidate them. Get off your high horse and continue to help where you can and ignore the posts where you do not have anything to offer other than criticism.

It was only a moment before I posted this that I answered a poster who was asking about Amplitube 3 and X1 compatability so it seemed like a good time to let the forum know that there was an update. if you look at the number of posts in those other forums you can see that they are not frequented as much as this one. It is the SONAR Producer, Studio Essentila users who need this info. In time the mods will move it anyway but for a few days it will help the word get out. Spreading relevant information about the tools we use is a valid function of this forum; and this one gets the most looks. When you become the moderator....well that won't happen will it.

The release is listed in my IK control panel as: 2 new processors, 64-bit support and Authorization Manager# It doesn't say "Not all of these." And when I click the 'Read' button I get: Released On 01-06-2011 Changes from version 3.1.2 • Two new processors available: White 2A Leveling Amplifier and Black 76 Limiting Amplifier • All T-RackS products has now native support for 64-bit DAWs and operating systems • New Authorization Manager included • Improved reliability when used with Ableton Live • Improved reliability when used with Celemony Melodyne • Fixed a bug on Vintage Compressor 670 about possible inconsistent gain reduction when bypassed and reactivated • Changed plug-ins names on Audio Units to facilitate plug-ins recognition on Logic Mixer • Fixed a bug on the automation about possible malfunctions when controlling modules on multiple shell slots Somewhat equivocal to say the least...

Thanks Mudgel, While I already knew about these releases, sometimes the only way I find out about updates is when people make short mention of it here. FWIW, the new IK updates seem to work without a hitch here in Sonar X64 under Win7 with one exception. On my system, Amplitube X64 will cause a crash whenever inserted in a project that is using more than about 6 GB of RAM. Since Amplitube takes about 350 MB of RAM with every instance it can eat up RAM pretty quickly and get to crashing levels. I've opened a ticket with IK, and while they've not outright confirmed it to be a bug, they have danced around it in a way that makes me think that it may be. If anyone could confirm here it may be helpful. Just add instances of Amplitube to an empty project until the project uses about 6 or 7 GB of RAM. Alternately, create a project that uses other synths that take 6 GB or so and then add Amplitube. Either cause a crash here. Thanks again Mudgel, and apologies if this is a bit of a hijack. Dean

Mike, thanks for this. If you would have posted this in the software forum, I would have never seen it because I don't go there. Why people feel the need to pull this self-policing BS is beyond me. Being helpful is being helpful. Let a mod move the post and let them worry about enforcing the forum rules. We should make a pact to ignore people that wave the TOS in our faces like little school girls followed by dumb comments like "just sayin". People like this will watch smart mouths attack others without saying a word, yet they go out of their way to post how something was put in the wrong place eventhough it HAS a place here and HAS helped others. I just don't get that about this forum and I never will understand it. If you're not a mod, don't pretend to act like one.

My sentiments exactly. It's a useful post and is indirectly related to sonar since many of us run in 64 bit. It makes the post relevant to sonar.

While we all would be happy to get the White and Black comps, comped. IK has to finance the move to x64 somehow. I'm glad to pay the price. I guess its obvious how I feel about post placement, I mean, come on...

(Just joking, sorry to destroy your fun- but there is a software section) So which one are you? Paul or the Ox? ... jusy kidding... you are right (technically). I notice that many times newbies post X1 questions in the "Getting Started" forum and the question just sits there... I always think that they woud have fared better if they had asked the question in the Sonar X1 forum and have sent some people messages suggesting that they ask their question here. A lot of people who knw a LOT about Sonar and DAWs in general never go into the Getting Started forum. So, really anything that needs to be seen by as many people as possible should be posted here, someone will move it if it needs moving. PErsonally, I check the GS forum, hardware, cmputers, software, songs, and CH.. but I tend to skip over most others. Julien

cecelius2 OT-- Any one have news about SampleTank's date for 64 bit? C2 I'm wondering about that myself - have been for a while - also for SampleMoog and Tron. Oh, and Sonik Synth. Seems like I've had them for years. Wait - it has been years! Some decent VSTis, with lots of content (maybe not by today's "90-gb of samples" standards). I hope the upgrade deals are good. Very cool seeing the momentum pick-up on the move to 64-bit. Thanks Mudgel - anyhow, besides (re-)stating the obvious (your post = helpful), don't you have super-Baker powers as a Platinum member so that you are allowed to post anywhere, anytime? Using just your mind?! One day I'll be up there with you, my friend, at the top of Mount Baker, Baking in Baker Heaven (so to speak)... Please ALL: FEEL FREE TO UPDATE ON ANY SONAR X1-RELATED ISSUES! Why limit ourselves - or worse, post unhelpful (and negative) comments about HELPFUL comments... Peace...

Sijel lorneyb2 Your "pseudo policing" not only is non constructive but also has the effect of intimidating new members who have asked legitimate questions in both forums and have not pursued their question because of your personal quest for organization and exactitude. You have 97 posts and a significant number of those have been to offer your opinion on the validity of a post being in a particular forum. The purpose of the forum is to help users, not to intimidate them. Get off your high horse and continue to help where you can and ignore the posts where you do not have anything to offer other than criticism. +1 I use TRacks under Sonar - and was wondering when 64 bit was available. Thanks - especially since you didn't moan like others that "Oh no! Now I have to upgrade my software" LOL Never mind - I didn't read your post properly. All's OK.
