First Sonik Synth, now this... So 2 or 3 weeks from now, we can expect to see Miroslav for $30. And then, Sampletron. And then... ;)

Oddly enough...it's not a deal on IK Site yet...

But you get the free expansion...and you can get 50 moog combis for $9.99 at checkout...

so that's a pretty good deal...

    And you probably right...

hey....if you can use them...get them while their CHEAP!!

I think everybody's waiting for SamplTank and it's kind to go 64bit......so, it's a waiting game.

Does SampleMoog sound as good as the free Arturia Minimoog that was available not long ago? Just wondering. I've never heard it.

Windows 7 64 bit, Sony Vaio Laptop Q740, 8 GB, Sonar Producer X1d, Focusrite Scarlett 18i, Korg Pa500, M-audio 61 Radium Keystation. Using Omnisphere, Trilian, Komplete 8, Morphestra, Orchestral Essentials, Evolve, Orange Tree Guitars, Addictive Drums, BFD2, Melodyne Editor, Studio One 2, Ozone 5, FabFilter.

I'll let you know Kreative as soon as I finish downloading.....the program is small....24 MB...but the Instrument Libraries are
pretty huge....5 parts of about 800 MB each....there are apparently 16 different Moogs included...

The free one from Arturia Sounded good...and my IK stuff has been very nice...so I'm waiting to see...

I missed the Sonic Synth deal....so when I found this on the Esoundz website with a free expansion (I got the Vocal Collection) I snagged it.

Those who are waiting will probably have to pay up the Gazotz when the 64 bit versions come out...

I think an upgrade price would be smarter then just waiting...but ...that's just me....

I'm hoping Miroslav is next.....I'll get that too...

I wouldn't have bought this at full price, but I jumped on the opportunity. I wasn't expecting all that much but this thing is sweet. Definitely worth a lot more than $30.

Ok so now, all that's left is Sampletank XL - which I really don't need - and upgrading Miroslav to full (but unfortunately there's no upgrade path, so I guess I'll have to wait until the next bargain.

Looking back, it would have been easier to grab the super bundle deal a couple of months ago.

Incidentally, may be worth asking here...

Do any of you guys have issues when auditioning patches in IK's synths? It may be an OS thing, I'm not sure. But whenever I'm browsing though patches, at first they load in a glimpse. But after a while, the patch themselves loads just as quickly, but once they're loaded, after a second or two, it's like the synth needs to work in the background to update the GUI or something. I can play the synths just fine, but I get the beach ball (Mac OS) for 10-12 seconds and I can't tweak anything.

This happens both in standalone mode and in my host, w/ all the SampleTank based instruments.

I'll be looking back in here to get your opinions on the sound of SampleMoog. I'd rather not pay the 64 bit price if it sounds good.

Kreative - I think it sounds VERY good.

But, I'm a guitarist first. As much as I love synths and as much as I try to learn and educate myself, I'm not the kind of guy who'll be able to appreciate all the most subtle details.

That being said, I've played w/ it for a while tonight and though I can't really tell that it is as lively and as right there as Arturia's Minimoog, it's definitely based on high quality samples. They don't sound dull or lifeless and the Sampletank engine allows you to tweak and push it even furthers.

If you want a Moog that you can tweak and create your own patches from scratches w/, that's not it. If you want a huge library of Moog patches which sound great as is and which that you can fine tune, SampleMoog is terrific (and inspiring - I was busy recording a new song idea minutes after I started playing w/ it. ;) )

I'm totally with you on the full price thing Rain...

But at $30...this IS a STEAL!!!  And a free Sampletank Pack....It has 16 different Moogs....

Kreative....I agree with Rain...it sounds REALLY good!  I'm a guitarist also...but this thing sounds good...

It's 32 bit....but, the way I see it...when the new one comes out...if it's a complete update and 64 bit I'll get an upgrade price
and not the full price...so that's a bonus...and good marketing on IK's Part!
And if it's just a free update to the 64 bit host....that's even better!

It was made very obvious that I wasn't welcome. So my superiors and I talked and decided to withdraw from these forums. I'm still lurking though because I still like the conversation here. Especially in the songs and  coffee house sections I have been frequenting since before starting at IK under different username.

That, to me, is VERY unfortunate.  First, why would they not welcome you here?  You have as much right to be here, to share your opinions, and to promote your firm, as anyone else does on this forum.  This is an OPEN forum, and if Cake feels that you are stealing their business or "dissing" THEIR product, then maybe they should address THEIR OWN ISSUES about it before "chastising" or "banning" you.

We are ALL (I hope) adults here.  We have the ability to make up our own minds, based on whatever info is provided.  I feel that to
make someone feel unwelcome because of who they work for is, on Cakes part, on anyone else's for that matter, a sure sign of insecurity
    and immaturity on their part.

Let's grow up people.  Stop the "Politic-ing" and get on with producing HIGH QUALITY products.  THEN let US decide what we like and don't like.
It's OUR DECISION - NOT YOURS!!!  AND....let everyone have their say...FREEDOM OF SPEECH.  You don't have to like it, or respond to it, or even READ it for that matter.  But don't make someone feel unwelcome because they are expressing their opinion.  I'm sure that the Cake people would
be welcome to do the same on the IK forum (I would hope).  We all should have the ability to "agree to disagree" and just get along and carry on.

So, IK Obi Wan Plugin Kenobi, you will be missed, but glad to know you're still lurking about...

I don't know the WHAT is that brought this about.  But from my experience with your posts, I think it's a "competitive" fear - and that, to me, is sad.
If the products you make "hold up" to critical scrutiny....then you have NOTHING to fear IMHO.

Well said.  Some posers here, especially one, were very rude and certainly not acting like adults.  I like IK reps here and it's a shame how he was treated.  One guy was seriously freaking out because he though it was spam.  Some people really need to get a grip.

I might have to buy this SampleMoog. I was really trying to see if it had a reasonably fat and thick/rich sound to it, low end grumbling bass, a sound that is full bodiied, sort of comparable to what you got out of the Arturia.

Is SampleMoog that much different in sound compared to SonikSynth 2? Or will most of it be redundant? In regards to IK Obi's issue... I think you should use your IK Obi login name to post IK Multimedia related and software related threads and use an alternate login name to post in other forums and threads. That way, it doesn't come off as you being a spammer and posting throughout the forums. I don't have a problem with seeing IK Multimedia on the threads I read but some people do and they voiced their feelings however harsh they may be. Still, you are very welcome here on these boards and I'm sure Cakewalk forum administrators feel the same way.

They are all based on the SampleTank framework...SonicSynth, SampleMoog, SampleTank, SampleTron, and Miraoslav....

SampleMoog is all MOOG.......16 different Moogs to be precise...

It sounds very good to me...as good as Arturia freebie...and far more flexible...

    That's my 2 cents....and that's about what it's worth...
