IK Multimedia now in the DAW business?
Just reading Premier Guitar and noticed a review dated May 30 2013. The new IK program for the iPad that uses a bunch of their stuff plus multi track recording and editing. Interesting to see an iPod DAW but I don't see this helping poor old Obi. i-apps is where the money is for them.. so they go after the money.. and no prizes for guessing what the result is , for users of their vsts

in a way, yea it is audio buss compatable Plays well in the Audiobus AmpliTube is Audiobus (sold separately, not by us but we think it’s cool) compatible. What does that mean, you say? Well, it means that you can route the output of other audio apps into a track in the Mixer/Studio section of AmpliTube. Now you can use apps like SampleTank, iLectric Piano or iGrand Piano, or any of your other favorite Audiobus compatible apps to add different sounds and instrumentation to your recordings making your musical ideas and visions come to life.

Yup, Audiobus is the equivalence to VST in a way on iOS. Also, since we started releasing iOS content we have released far more Studio VST releases and updates than we ever did when we DIDN'T make anything on iOS. All it has done is given us an opportunity to do more than we ever had done before. You know, breaking records, creating new tools that are affordable enough or the everyday musician. Being able to do what you can do with your iPhone or iPad used to cost THOUSANDS. Now the everyday kid can have these tools.

Zactly! Just check out the Windows 8 advert where the kids are finger painting on a $1,000 Windows Surface tablet. It's just like cigarettes when I was a kid. Hook em young, hook em good.

Obviously not just kids. We make tools for musicians. I was playing guitar when I was 10. Played all through school and still do. I'd much rather have my kid hooked on music and recording than many of the other things one can get hooked to.
