I/O error?

When starting Platinum and as it is trying to enter the Start Screen, i get an error message saying "Encountered a hardware I/O error while accessing an unnamed file". What could be causing this?

My "stab in the dark" reply would be that your hard drive, where that unnamed file resides, may by on its way out.

Can you check your system event logs for any disk errors.  You might also want to run a disk diagnostic tool.

If you find any bad blocks, you might want to do a full backup (while you still can) and then replace the hard drive.

If doing all this properly sounds daunting, then you might need to get an experienced person to give you a hand with this.

Thanks for the stab! I went to drive manager and found out that there was some sort of a drive problem in my SSD. Ran Corsair's drive analysis that showed no fault, so decided to wipe the drive, repartition it and install everything again. Now all is ok. Also start screen works :)
