I-Pad Touch Control

I know that this has been talked about before but are we going to see some sort of tablet contoller, to control Sonar soon.  I would prefer if it wasn't for an I-Pad but some other tablet making company.  This tablet controller paradigm seams to be the way to go, it would be the only way I would upgrade to X1 if X1 was the only product to support it.

I mean rather than have to have two to three different control surfaces to control the mixes and to control plugs, we just a have a touch screen, seems like a no brainer to me.

Been using this as my control surface for about 15 years:

It's got so may knobs and sliders squeezed on to that you can't really even see em.

The wireless versions have been out for about a decade.

Will X1 work with a touchscreen monitor? A nice 1920x1200 27" touchscreen monitor, that would work with X1 would be nice. That AC-7 Core looks nice but it seems like it would be really small on an i-pod touch.
What exactly can you do with the drawing pad? How can you tell where you are on the screen by looking at the pad? How does it work?

    Already out there ...

    http://www.neyrinck.com/en/products/v-control-pro

I use mine with Pro-Tools on the Mac - but it uses HUI protocol, so it should be usable with Sonar as well.

While its a nifty toy - it does not replace motorized faders on a nice control surface.

There are other tablet makers out there? Where?

Ooops I missread the OP and linked to the iPAD version.  AC-7 mini is optimised for iPOD and iPhone
Edit:  No, I didn't missread the OP.  I'm just good at confusing myself...

Did I mention that AC-7 Core (iPAD version) has a slave module with just faders and no transport so you could run 5 or 6 iPads (or more) on your desk and have a huge touch screen virtual console...  How kewl would that be?

I wouldn't trade my contol surface for an ipad control.  I would much rather grab a fader and turn a knob.
