Tried it last week and it is very delicious, the crispy very thinly sliced becon is wrapped around the out-edge crust only with tiny sprinkles of becon on top. One bite and your taste buds go into over drive, so engaged into such a delicious treat you won't notice the juices dripping all over the place. Sure worth it though!

Lived in Australia most of my life, the becan is a bit chewier, has small bones pieces and is a larger cut but tastes great. Whereas in the US, I've been having Farmland becan, its so much more tender and also tastes great. IMHO, US wins. I use the remainder becan fat to season my cast iron cookware, my large 14" pizza pan by Lodge is awesome for cooking all sort of goodies such as, oven fries and crab cakes (non-stick, no mess)!

So is butter and milk fat... it is those unsaturated fats that get you. First rule, never pay any attention to a government diet...
Does this mean becan will get cheaper or more expensive? Now the Three Little Pigs have a LOT more to worry about!

I have as friends, a big family of folk from Tonga and Samoa and one time when the dad was away I had the privilege of being the "dad" at a family BBQ. Sort of an honoured friend who becomes the host.
I arrived late in the afternoon at the prescribed time with my wife and there on the fire was a spit that had 3 little pigs roasting on it. As the dad stand in for the festivities it was my honor to cut the heads off the 3 pigs and have my pick of the choicest parts. Mm yum! Everyone got the joke and thought it all really funny and I got a great story to tell.
No becan but plenty of pork and crackling.
