I'd like you to meet my wife..
First let me apologize if this violates any TOS. I don't think it will. Some might consider it SPAM but I wont post a link and really, I am just proud of her and what she does. It is so unique and creative... Anyway, I married a beautiful girl in 1978. She was just 18 by a month and I was 26... but we were meant for each other, time has proven that... plus we took our promise to each other seriously. Anyway we raised two daughters and made it through a lot of times with pretty much nothing but I don't recall ever being unhappy. In the 90s she went to college and got a 6 yr degree in 5 yrs. She got grants and scholarships and actually had money left over after paying tuition and buying books. She took out a student loan because the interest rate was SO good that it would have been stupid not to. We bought a car with the loan... and we are the ones who are paying back the loan, laff. She studied accounting and took the CPA exam when she got out and fulfilled all the prep. In GA, they say the CPA exam is harder than the GA BAR exam tcome an attorney and almost no one passes all parts on their first try, IIRC, it is a five part exam. Fewer than 2% of people who take it pass it all on the first try, she is a 2%er... and she is VERY good at what she does. I have seen her change people's tax situation from paying 20K to getting a refund of 30K and she does not cut corners, she just knows the tax code and knows her business. I am very proud of her for that. She also loves vintage textiles of all kinds, from vintage chinielle to barkcloth to feed sacks. She repurposes the barkcloth and feed scks into pillows and restores the bedspreads if she can. I think she now has over a dozen "double peacock" chenille bedspreads, those are in her personal collection. So anyway, if you put catnapcottage into the google searchbox, she is the first listing. She has several stores on that same site but I don't think they are linked. It is on a site called ETSY (dot com). Sorry, I guess that is SPAM ad if it needs to be deleted.. go ahead. Her other shops are listed in her profile. vintagetextilejunkie ; evieandilene (Evie and Ilene, her two grandmothers) ; and midcenturymodern . So, if you want to see what goes on around here take a look. We have pillows EVERYWHERE and her office in town is an old two story home. The downstairs is her CPA office, the upstairs is her "cottage". She is really creative and really LOVES what she does. I hope I have not offended anyone by this shameless promotion of my wife and her lovely creations... if so I apologize... I know it's not becan.. but everything cannot be becan! I wish I were half as creative as she is. Julien

speaking for myself only, Julien - I am not offended and I am not sure I would consider this "spam" if I were a moderator (which I am not). yeah, it could be, but to me, I just see a post of a man who is proud of his wife and is sharing her skills and creativity with his internet friends. thank you for that!

Hey, Julien... Thanks for introducing us. In fact, I also have an etsy shop, and I'll be adding her to my circle (she'll know what that means). Here's my alter ego, just for kicks: http://www.etsy.com/shop/juliannamcduffie?ref=si_shop Yeah. That's right. I crochet rocks. But for ARTS sake...I sell some, but many I leave on the beach for other people to find and take home. I also blog about it all, like the lunatic I am, with pictures and a guestbook for the finders that want to "sign in". The blog isn't limited to pebbles though... If you want to know what's up with the Jules when I'm not around, you could get a pretty good idea from here: http://www.curiouspebble.com/. My Chicken Cacciatore recepie got a "Yammy" from Alex the Kook on my Facebook feed. :D

Julien, that's the sweetest thing I've read in a long time. Way to go! She sounds amazing, and very loved. :) Great website too. Julianna, love your new kitchen! And you're the very first person I've ever met that crochets rocks. :)

Hey Julien, I also have to say that was a lovely introduction for your wife. I did the google thing, but the first thing in the search was a boarding house for cats and kittens in Canada, but I found the etsy site. Very impressive! Thanks for sharing.
