If "Bapu Is As Bapu Does"
Does that mean, if he isn't doing anything at any particular moment, then he ceases to exist? Or is Bapu also as Bapu doesn't?
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

It's kind of like Yin and Yang except that both extremes consist of Bapu. Even those little holes that they leave in each side are filled with Bapu. It's not balance, it's Bapulence a state of mind similar to flatulence, but gassier. Feel free to begin chanting now. "Ammmmmmmmmmmm..."

bayoubill It's been said already" If Bapu falls in the woods, and no one is there to hear him fall, is there any sound?" Actually, there are multiple things which would happen. First, he would post a pair of redundant threads about the experience while simultaneously submitting about a dozen or so posts in other threads referring to his new threads. This would occur at about the moment of impact. In spite of the fact that no one was there to hear him fall, somehow, Mooch would be there to point and laugh. Physicists and Philosophers are baffled (and somewhat alarmed) by Mooch's unfailing ability in this area. At about the same time, a fight would break out in the upstairs forums. Actually, that would happen anyway, but there's always at least one fight breaking out at any given moment. Somehow, across the vast reaches of space, the impact of Bapu's fall would be felt by a certain being bent on the destruction of Earth. A slow smile would creep across the face of Bing...

UbiquitousBubba That would be the "Am-ness of Bapu", I believe. (or Am it?) "The Am-ness of Bapu" would be a great title for a solo bass performance on the next CHB album. Of course, it would be a short solo (as there's only one note).

LOL - I have this image of the band just jamming along then suddenly everyone stopping and looking at Bapu while he hits that one lone Am then everyone picks it right back up and keeps going! Of course, someone should annouce "Give it up for Bapu on bass!" Hehe...

drewfx1 Of course, it would be a short solo (as there's only one note). Ah, Drewf (my original X1 mate), The Am is not just a note (although noting is possible without out). It's a state of mind and an attitude. Therefore one (i.e. The Bapu) would not do The Am justice by simply plucking that one note in a solo. There is the stance, the strut and the moobs to consider. Time is needed to convey all that.

Perhaps someday I will have the stance and strut and whatnot necessary for the totality of Am-ness.
