If I

This is a new Christian song that I have been working on for a while.  It started with a finger chord picking pattern that I liked, not sure where it came from, but had a little bit of a Claptonesque feel to it.  It took a while to get the lyrics where I wanted them.  Now I have just been mixing the death out of it.... to the point, I am not sure that I can even be objective about it.

I thought I would throw it out there for the forum to listen too.  Hopefully, I am close to being done with this one...otherwise, I may need to take a break from it.

Hey Mike...I just took a listen on my laptop, so not a great mix evaluation here....  Best I can tell you got a good tone and level on your acoustic guitar, and I really like the tone of the solo guitar also.  Sounds like some timing issues though between drums, strumming, and lead guitar...maybe it's just me today though.
    Nice job lyrically.

    Thanks for posting.

    Cheers!

    cclary, thanks for listening bro!

Tony, appreciate you taking the time to listen as well.  The solo guitar is done using the new TH2 sim.  I believe the amp choice was a blend of 2 but mostly the Bassman sim.  A very good and trusted friend of mine listened to this one early this morning and mentioned that the drum pattern might not completely work right with the guitar rhythm.  You may be hearing something similar.  I guess I will wait and see if others are sensing the same thing.

I am not a drummer and usually just try to pick an EZ Drummer pattern that works with my song.  I have struggled a little with this one.  Probably because of the unique chord plucking technique that I have going on here.  Maybe, using Audio Snap and quantinizing the drums/ midi with the acoustic would solve the problem here.... I just have never done it.  Going to have to study a you tube video on it and give it a try.  Probably going to take a little break first though.

Well done, Mike.  This is one of your loveliest songs, and the melody is superb.  I can really tell that you've put in some time with this.  I've never heard your voice sound better.  Encore!

    Thanks for listening Makke!!

Lynn, I really appreciate your comments; I know you have been following my work for a while.  You are absolutely correct on putting some time into this one.  I put a lot of focus into the lyrics for this song.  I liked the way the song idea started out and knew that I was going to need to be patient, keep working the lyrics, and not just "settle" like I often do.

I have a good friend that is a professional writer for a marketing firm.  I bounced this one off him several times.  Bob did n't write any of the lyrics for me, but really helped me with direction by asking simple questions like, "so if you were on this road, how would you feel, what would you expect?"  Asked me questions, is I guess the right way to put it.  It help me tremendously to home in my thoughts

Don,  Thank you for listening, really glad that you liked the song.

Ohgrant, Thank you as well.  Yes, I seem to kind of have that Tom Petty thing naturally.  I fought it for a while, but have just kind of excepted that is how I naturally sound.
