If there was one.....

band or artist/musician that you HAD to choose as a favourite, whom would it be?

Mine would Van Halen (with DLR).

No way would it be Jethro Tull either...

    Actually, it'd be Peter Gabriel.

If The CHB would release more songs, then maybe I'd choose them.

I'm a gonna go with John Hiatt (today... who knows about tomorrow)

Bapu, this is NOT a serious thread. If the OP had intended it to be serious, he would've stated it......please refrain from being serious as there are some of us here that don't take things seriously very well and this being a non-serious topic, it's certainly uncalled for.....sheeeesh.....there's a limit to everything!!

Russ Abbott, maybe Bobby Crush as a pure instrumentalist though.

    It's close.

Well...the question was: Artist or musician...but as others have suggested groups I could do it as well, if I could, but I can not...

The Beatles changed everything, but I never listen to them, not in 30 years or so...Led Zeppelin I adore, but Mountains "Nantucket Sleighride" is an album I love more than any of the LZ albums..

I think I'll have to settle with David Bowie. I've listened to him for 40 years regularily. That same criteria would lift Jethro Tull to a good second.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Ok, the serious answer... someone probably no one here has ever heard of... (and now semi-retired):

    Gary Karr.

Best classical bass soloist ever, by far, no one else (not that there are that many <smile>) comes close.  I have spent decades seeking to emulate his tone.

As much as I hate 50% of their work, it would have to be Queen for the sheer genius of stuff like Seven Seas Of Rhye and of course Bohemian Rhapsody.

    I also love ABBA and King's X though :O)
