Wikipedia may be helpful.

The guy is pretty darn good. Probably unfair because he's a bit more of multi-instrumentalist than Claypool appears to be.

I'm pretty sure he was the bass player in this guy's band.

Hi

Both extremely prolific and very fine bass players, however, I am not sure that I would choose them over a Stanley Clarke, for example, or a David Darling, with his experimental work.

Still, both very fine and I would not enjoy selecting one or the other ... I would find a way for both to play together and make the piece of music outta this Bapu!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

I'd pick Nick Lowe - he's already been nicked, so it saves work.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I thought this fred was about bass players who doan follow the rulez. No?

And that's no joke. I've played with a LOT of bass players over the years and a couple world class players.

As goofy and wacky as our Mr. Ed can be anyone who has had the opportunity to work with him and hear his playing in isolation can tell you... he is top shelf.

I've told him before he could easily work as a session bassist.

Dude simply has "it" when it comes to rumbly low frequency arts.

Yes... "arts", not "farts" but I'm sure he's quite proficient in that area as well... what with the "old" thing and all.

/schlobbing of the knobbling... but it is indeed sincere
//otherwise I'd just play my own gatdammed bass parts

Why he's mentioned in the reply right above this one!

(Besides, if we were adding bassists, which is against the OP's rules, I would add Tony Levin.)
