If you thought the old "new" MySpace did stink...

You ain't seen nothing yet.

I don't know how, but they did it - it's actually WORST.

My home page consists in a side bar, then a blank screen which takes the rest of my screen.

If I scroll to the right - the equivalent of an entire page/screen, I then have access to... More white screen w/ a tiny picture of me on the left and a little space where I can type an update.

Why can't they just let it die...

I guess that massively large blank space is for the band's album cover. MySpace is going to find it near impossible to pick-up a lot of new music listeners because most have settled in elsewhere. And at the moment MySpace appears very JT self-advertising. How convenient!

That was my first attempt at logging into the "new" MySpace. I couldn't find any way to access my old contact, nor my blog, nor anything else.

However, logging in to the old MS afterwards, everything was there.

Frankly, I don't know how and why MySpace could be used anymore. As some sort of hub for links to content? That usually mean having to put up w/ tons of junk to find one thing you like.

Myspace is still around? I had a page but I never used it after setting it up. I think FB came along and seemed so much easier andmore people I know are there. If it is worse, maybe I broke it. I am beginning to wonder.

So they should rename it "My(Blank)Space" then?

I tried to find more info/detail about the new MySp but couldn't find anything much more than a promo video. I did however read the TOS and backed-off (for now) not sure if I'll register but eventually I guess all accounts will be transferred to the new and all new artists/releases will default to the new.

And what happens to musicians 'friends-list' as changes take effect?

Yeah I don't see how MySp is going to gain much in terms of listeners - 'genuine fans'; a lot of these types of users have settled in elsewhere. As it now stands; it still seems like the ones remaining are mostly musicians and generally they're all mostly only interested in themselves.

People listen to music on YouTube and Grooveshark and such...

"Related searches" there are much more likely to raise potentially interesting results than something like MS.

Yeah, after I tried the first time and chose the new MS, I logged out, then came back here. I knew Ol Pal had a MS in his signature so I used that and logged in to the old site. I could access my stuff that way.

sorry, didn`t read that you logged in eventually.
Heard on the news about big job cuts at head office in Montreal-hope you`re not affected.
Saw the second last tour here and can`t remember the theme but remember being blown away by the band-almost Floydish prog and i missed some of the show just watching the band having a ball in their perspex box.(and they were loud!)
    and here`s me expecting a circus-ha
would that have been your wife doing the prog/opera vocals?
    cheers

    Thanks.

We haven't been affected by the cuts - and the show is doing quite well it seems. And no, we haven't been to Australia - New York, Madrid, Moscow, NY again and now settled in Vegas.

An audio CD should be released eventually. The parts have been recorded, earlier in January. :)
