I'm using Kaspersky, it seems to work fine for me, if I'm working on a heavier project sometimes I will disable my wireless adapter and disable Kaspersky's real-time protection but other than that it's been fine for me

If I had to use a computer connected to the internet for my DAW, I would probably disconnect from the net and disable the AV software when necessary.

I only connect to the internet when updating or activating a product using the Native Instruments Service Center...so, I was thinking about some protection for those paticular times.  I haven't installed Kaspersky but I wanted to get some advice before doing so... I use Kaspersky on my other two home computers.

    I'm with Scott on this...
    I'd use MS Security Essentials.

If you're not sending/receiving Email, not doing general purpose surfing (just going to trusted sites for updates/authorization), and you're behind a hardware Firewall... I'd opt for no A/V software.

    +100

    It works.
    It's very low on resources.
If you need stronger, you are looking for software in all the wrong places :)
