If you use Zoom R24 64-bit ASIO drivers, DO NOT install the latest X1a update (fixed!)

This is a bit surprising, due to the complete lack of QA that accompanied this latest update, but I just got off the phone with cakewalk support.  They confirm that there is a serious issue with the latest update, and the only remedy is to install the original version.  You cannot downgrade from X1a to X1.  Basically the problem is that sonar cannot find your ASIO device.  I am using a zoom r24, and that is my only option to interface to it.
So if you use asio, especially if you use a zoom r24 as your interface, I would advise you do NOT install this until they get the issue rectified with another patch.

Cheers,
David J.

Just to re-iterate, this is straight from the support persons mouth.  He said there was an issue with ASIO, and it "is obviously an impacting issue".  Obviously it does not affect everyone using ASIO, since you are OK.  I'm just trying to save anyone else my headache, as the only way to fix it, again straight from him, is to reinstall the original version.
So go ahead and take your chances, just a fair warning.

Seems to be by a case by case basis.  Me, I've had it appear twice and after a close and restart, X1a picks up the device just fine.

Not using ASIO but X1a is as dead as a dodo. No audio engine or transport.
Exactly the same settings I used in X1. SONAR 8.3, 8.5 32 & 64 bit all work fine. and X1 worked fine with the settings copied over during install. X1a no workee - despite trying everything - its like its not connected to the audio driver at all.

I just installed X1A and my ASIO drivers were picked up fine (x64) on the ECHO 3G audio interface.  I hope I don't start having problems... X1 has worked flawlessly for me (don't want to JINX it though).

I have updated another post also.  I too use a Zoom R24 with 64 bit drivers on Windows 7 64 and the all was good with 8.5.3 and X1.  X1A does not see my Zoom drivers.  Did reboot, reinstall, created new aud.ini file.  No fix.  Just wanted to chime in.  I sent in a problem report this morning.

Using a Motu 1224 with ASIO drivers at 1.5ms here no problems at all. I believe its only effecting "certain" hardware devices using ASIO, again not across the board.
