If you're happy and you know it ...

If you're happy and you know it, bump this thread.

I'm running stable and very productive these days on X2a. Times are good. Creativity is not impaired by software issues. I hope it's the same for you.

To all those grumpy nay-sayers and complainers: Fix your PC, that'll do wonders...

... and finally, to all marketing interns from other DAW sellers and trolls spreading negativism and misjugdement for money: Don't try to hi-jack this thread. We know it's you!

I, too, am happy with X2a, it's running very well here, no issues.  The odd minor bug, but nothing that affects my workflow.

I loved X1d, but really enjoy the enhancements in X2.

I'm not sure everyone's issues can be put down to their PC's, though.  Some, probably.

I think some of it may be down to workflow.  If I don't use a particular part of Sonar that has bugs, then Sonar will appear bug free to me.  Someone who uses it a lot will have a very different view.

I have seen many people complain of bugs that have turned out to be system related, user error, or misunderstandings about how a particular feature works.

I have also seen intelligent, savvy people who seem to have diabolical issues through no fault of their own.  It must be gut wrenching to be in that position.  I truly don't know why.

I do know that it is not always a system issue, though.

I can still measure a small performance hit from X2 to X2a, and still see various quirks, some of which I still curse at, but I'm at least able to use X2a. I just have to open a whole new session/template for each take of a song to keep X2a from dropping out audio during recording.

I wish I could have had the X2a patch without "new features".

The winds aren't strong, but I'm sailing.

OOPS! I Quoted myself vs. Editing. The board doesn't allow me to delete?

Anyway, I added this text: I just swapped over to newer Intel motherboard and upgraded to a 3770 series Quad-Proc (8 thread). Upgraded RAM to 1600Mhz to match what the MB and proc can do, and I still see a performance hit in X2a vs X2.

Went to X2 64 in Win 7. Took the jump to X2A 64 in Win 8.  I have had a few small issues, but I have had about as many issues on my iPhone5 to compare to a very different technology.  Each of the small issues was directly related to my video card - once I downloaded an update and it fixed the problem, I bought newer technology - the card was 3 years old. Each time I changed to a new OS, I built with a new set of hard drives and picked up the latest drivers for everything.  I haven't loaded anything other than Sonar and other third party effects other than OS and drivers. I only connect to the internet to get downloads from these companies - so I can run without anti virus, but I am dilligent in staying off the internet on that box.   Its a DAW only. I average 12 to 16 channels of recorded data and the same amount for midi data for comparisons.  I am kind of old school in that usually retake instead of edit - fixing it in the mix is not something that appeals to me. ALL that said, I am a very happy camper.

Cool!  There are quite a few musicians that either work for or are related to Bentley employees.  Must be a software thing.  Though I wasn't aware that his son was too.

With the random crashes (maybe three since X2 came out) auto save has been my best friend.

At least two of those crashes where when I stooooopidly have thought SONAR was a gapless engine and I've done things while a project was playing that I just ***KNEW*** I should not be doing but I went ahead and did them anyway. Shame on me.

I'm with ya bapu, I've had 3 instances of Drumagog running through jBridge using Drumagog's plug-in hosting feature to run Kontakt. Drumagog can't take advantage multi output synths so I have Kontakt loaded three times with the Abbey Road drums in each one. You can imagine the RAM usage. I only had one crash before I wisely started freezing the tracks.
