I'm Back

Four days without power and 6 days without internet.
I'm cold and uninformed.
What's happening out there?

Yeah, not much flooding in Raleigh, except a few places which always flood and people keep going back there. Here, it was downed power lines and the fact that Duke Energy sent most of it's crews to Florida in advance of the hurricane, then had to import crews from up north when we got more wind and rain than was initially expected.
There are still many throughout the south without power. Thank goodness it's the south and not yet winter.

Glad you're back in business. Having no power for more than a few hours really sucks, even if you're reasonably well prepared for it.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
