I'm The King Of The World

My new song is "Im The King Of The World". I think I may catch some heat on this one. It's the second song down from the top, under "The Cubs Are Gonna Do It.

I thank every one that has helped me improve over the past year!
Stay cool, Terry

My next song will be
I'v Got What It Takes or You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

Love it – the humor, the dialogue-like bridge – something about it makes me laugh (in a good way). It’s got a sort of updated, Rocky Horror sound to it (I like the applause). It’s a tongue-in-cheek track, but it’s also pretty well executed! Nice job – a fun listen for sure.

Liked the feel in this, there's a bit going on in the mix and you did a great job having it all gel together IMO.

listening to your song over waffles and coffee on a sunday morning with wife and baby.

we all love it - expecially the cheezy synth yamaha sax solo.

you have a great voice that goes well with the tune.

    very interesting and fun song.

This is cool. i thought maybe the sax ? --is that what it is? was a little too loud as I had to strain to hear the vocals sometimes. But it's not bad. The drums sound pretty cool too!

wickerman and MannyNY, thank you very much. I was not sure about this one, so hearing good things, made my day. Yes the song is a bit tongue-in-cheek track, however I wanted to write it like it was an interview with leo. I would have used any movie stars name, but leo's work out best. Did you catch where "I'm The King Of The Wolrd" Line is from, as well as my ship has come in. I think that may be the "tongue-in-cheek" your talking about. is it?

This is very nice overall. A few tweaks and twirls would help. I also lost the vox in a few spots.

Did you know that there was a President of the US. that was once a King?

    Well done

Man...I really like this...in fact it one of my favs' from you (although I do like them all)...but your high vox feels really right for this number....love it really cool. One lil tid bit...it seems like your vox and the "cheesy" sax?..lol (somebody said it first..)...lol kinda compete for the same tone/space....so it was mixed well even to have them apart....I'd try to fatten the sax part up a tad just to move it even futher.

    very very cool song!!

1978 anyone?!? Production is great, song is well performed. 8 out of 10. I didn't like the drums but I suck at drums myself. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Mamabear, Thanx for the input. I beleave you are right. I felt that the guitar was a bit to loud in spots, but when I lowered it it seem to low when I played it in my car. almost lost. Are you listening on head phones? I have not learned the art of getting things to sound good no matter what I play it on. I'm still working on that.

    Take care,
    Terry

I'm The King Of The World

    Leonardo Dicaprio
How does it feel I need to know
As you take your first step towards anybodys dream
    does it get you inside
Does it make you wanna scream

    Chorus

I'm the king of the world
You all know where I've been
I'm the king of the world
Now my ship has come in
I'm the king of the world
Living in the lap of luxury
Oh I'm here where i wanna be
Just lying in the sun living like a king

    Leonardo Dicaprio
How do you deal with the highs and lows
As you make the big time living in the big money shell
Do you know life out side
Does it make you wann yell

    Repeat chorus

How much money do you make
what do you buy with it - where do you go
how much mail do you get
Do you tier of the fame - do you feel an undertow
tell us what it's like to be a star
How does it change the way you live
Does it change who you are
Is your heart in all you do - do you give all you have to give

cjlinus, I'll take 1978. I get the sixies almost all the time, once I got the 80s with a OMD sound alike "Somewhere". I'm working on two songs, Sometimes" and Memories, that I hope will bring me in to 2020. Any reason you paid 1978 other then any other year in the 70s?

Nice song. Fun. Apparently you and I share the same problem of being born in the wrong era

Chez Jonesy, Is it my playing that you're saying is cheezy, or is it the sound of the sax?
I don't use a yamaha synth, It's Dim Pro. It sounded good to me, but Im always to close to my songs as I am completing them start to finish. Thank you for the input
