I'm angry about Faderport

All week I've been looking forward to getting home from NY and plugging in my FP courtesy of those fine fellows at B&H.  Useless and crap are two of the more printable adjectives that spring to mind after 3 hours of jet-lagged shenanigans.

What a muppet I feel.  Should have bought the mic instead.

I got it working - 15 minutes before I need to go and collect my better half from the station.  I can't really then say I'm going to hide away for several hours with my new toy after being away for 2 weeks!

In the end I had to manually register the 32 bit dll, running under the 64bit OS, and executing both S32 and S64.  I got there eventually by randomly plugging/unplugging and installing/uninstalling.

It's times like these that I almost wish I had a Mac.  Almost...

But hey - good to spend a couple of weeks in the US of A.  I finally got to spend a weekend in NYC after spending many weeks there just working.  Got to see the Intrepid (a must see for boat/plane/sub fans), the Yankees get defeated 5-1 in an incredible statium by somewhere in Florida (I think), a visit to B&H and several trips to Century 21 for bargain clothes!  Even ventured onto the subway for the first time in years.  Last time I went down the escalator standing politely on the wrong (correct for us Brits) side and got shouted at by youths in baggy pants.

There are also many issues reported with youths in baggy pants.  No resolution is pending, though.

I have a resolution, but it's typically considered illegal in most states and most countries around the world.

Dont feel bad, the Frontier AlphaTrak and Tranzport 32 and 64 bit Dlls have the SAME NAME when installed.
you have to rename the 64 bit dll and regsvr them both .....

this info was found after an hour of scrounging the intraweb after fighting with them on my new install...
