I think I have an old VHS tape that was made of the band around here somewhere.....I  would have to look for it and see if it still plays and if that ZZ set was in it.

I'd like to see it whether the ZZ Top set with beards is on it or not.

Isn't it ironic that the only member of ZZ Top that doesn't have a beard is named Beard?

As an avid Beard grower I have a few tips for ya: !) Trim your beard every 4-6 weeks. Some wait 8 weeks, but I've noticed it grows faster and a bit more even if you go 4-6 weeks. 2) Exfoliate 3) Wash it with normal shampoo and conditioner. This seems small and silly, but no one likes a dandruff beard. Especially for those ladies that DO like beards. Make it nice for them.

Trim?  Wash?  Exfoliate???

How's he supposed to feel like a "real" man if he does all that?

Beard Watch update........I shaved it off

As I was rushing through the hotel lobby, I realised that I hadn't checked the mirror after I'd shaved. So I went up to the receptionist and asked, "Excuse me miss, I'm late for a meeting and my shave this morning was somewhat haphazard, can you tell me if I've missed anywhere?"

She said, "Sir, can you please put your testicles away."

Does the lovely Mrs. not like beards at all--or does she not have the patience for you to get past the George Michael phase?  If she wasn't a such good sport and a keeper, I give you a hard time about that.

One thing I've found is that the itchiness gets less if you grow a beard more often.  Since I'm a lazy arse, I don't usually keep a beard for very long.  I often tire of the routine and take a "vacation from shaving" and when the beard to be more work to trim than to shave--I go back to shaving.  Itching hardly bothers me anymore.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

I'm not sure - I've never got that far. I may try wearing a false beard for a few days to test the water before I try again.

Re:I'm growing a beard.... 2012/11/05 09:48:14 (permalink)
I had a beard from 1976 - 1992. Never shaved off through those years.
Trimmed only.
My kids would grab it and I'd swing them. That didn't last long.
Had hair to the middle of my back those years too. The long hair
was in when I was a kid.
I remember The Beatles started that. I saw them on the Sullivan show
and that ended my trip to the barber. School was tuff. Not many watched
the show I guess. Well I learned to fight pretty good trying to live as I wanted.
I may not had made it if I could've grown a beard too LOL.

I had to shave it off for my job. It was very strange and I looked much,
much younger without it. ( not something I really cared about )

I've had a mustache since high school ...never shaved off.

All I did was eat ranch dressing on pizza and Beagle starts lobbying to get my man card removed but Daryl shaves his beard at his wife’s request and nobody says anything.  What ranch dressing has to do with manliness is beyond me but the beard thing is right on the man card!?!?

On a separate note and not to derail this thread, here is a picture of my new dog Lucy, she is not quite 5 months (not going to get much bigger).  Guys, don’t you think the little red and yellow bows and bandana are just adorable!
