I'm growing a beer

or at least a thirst for one...

Not sure where Beags is but it's 7pm here... and considering I never have anywhere to be beer o'clock can be pretty much whenever. That in theory could be a very bad thing but I try not to let it be.

Rogue's Younger's Special Bitter and Widmer's Drop Top are my current two favorites (along with the occasional Speckled Hen and, another local brew, Deschute's Mirrorpond).

I don't like colored water.

I love bitter beers, and port, stout also.

Just wish they weren't so bloody expensive, 8-10$ for a beer?

I brew wine, thought about breewing beer, it just seems to much work, wine is easy as pie.

I can handle ports and stouts, but my preference is brown/amber smooth.  OR a good red is great, too.

bitter beers always reminds me of my young days when we we'd buy Busch beer because it was really really cheap.  and it was bitter enough to make your toes curl!  but it was beer.  and it was cheap!

That looks delicious (smacks lips)

I've wanted to try brewing beer, just need so much new gear. I already have all my wine stuff.

Best wine I made was pineapple, seriously good.

Worst.. Dried figs, tasted like the most hideous sherry abomination ever concocted, I still almost gag at the though of it.

I almost said that exact line, then decided to be nice and only mentioned that I don't like colored water instead.

I'm lucky where I live, I can buy a 1/4 barrel of a nice micro-brew (like Widmer's Drop Top) and put it into a Kegerator for under $60.  Considering that's 60 pints, it comes out to less than a $1 per pint.  We have a couple of dart teams up here that play out of brew-pubs (like the Lucky Labs and Migration Brewing) and when we go there for matches we get great beer for $3-$4 a pint.  You don't need more than one or two!
