I'm having some trouble writing Rapture Automation - solved.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I have a midi track and the midi return track (not sure what to call it). I enable write automation on both the midi track and the return track and hit play then twiddle the nobs on Rapture. I think I remember this automation writing in the past, but for some reason it isn't today.
 
I also tried using the act learn to use my alpha track to turn the nobs, but that doesn't seem to be working today either.
 
I just went to the Dim Pro and I was able to control the nobs with my alpha track using Act, but I still am not writing the automation. I'd swear I've done this before, but I'm dizzy trying to remember how.
