An "upright" grand?  I thought a grand piano meant it was horizontal, no?

Veneer has been around for a long time.

It makes large chunks of furniture wood look solid when there are often structural reasons why it shouldn't be solid.

Using old furniture as a wood source is not unheard of... you'll want to make sure the wood you plan to source isn't just a thin layer of veneer.

best regards,

Gee, what to do...  Here's what I'm doing with about that amount:

Jeepers, never managed to figure out you guitar guys . One minute you're selling your guitar, the next you have another that but for a bit of blue paint and a few strings  looks exactly the same ! ;)

Not exactly...  This has been in the works for a couple of years now.  It's mostly done, but put on hold while the luthier moved to a much bigger location and while I deal with my situation.  Although it could be made to look sort-of the same, there will a LOT of differences.  This one will be FAR lighter (using Korina, a.k.a., Black Limba, instead of Wenge plus the back won't be capped so there'll be a tummy tuck as well).  This one will have a less imposing trem too (probably a Wilkinson), silver hardware and will be red.  It will still have pretty much all the tone options that the blue one had though, just with more modern sounding pickups.

Or translated for non-guitarists:

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah .... yeah, but this one's red.  ;)
