They are actually pretty good live - we saw them a couple of years ago in Birmingham and they were admirably supported by Staind.

Saw them in 2006 on the Bon Jovi tour and thought they were ok personally. Whoever was doing the desk/sound didn't do them too many favours though. Don't know how it works with these kind of stadium gigs, whether it's the same people/equipment for both bands or not, but BJ certainly blew them away in terms of sound mix / quality.

Paulo, I'm friends a sound guy (he's done Van Halen, Toto, Brian Setzer and John Legend among others). Each band usually has their own sound guy. However, sometimes it's the venue's board and sometimes it's the main act board. That accounts for at least 50% in difference in sound between bands. In my friend's case (when I've been there) it was his board and the opening act used his board with his assistance. However, Setzer still blew away the opening act (even when Setzer did his three piece set, which the opener was).

Back in the day, we did a few gigs with lots of bands and 'cos we had a mixer / pa and our own sound guy we used to charge other bands to use ours and have the sound guy if they wanted to, to generate funds for the band. Worked out ok except for the fact that the other bands almost always sounded better than us! D'oh !

Nickelback evidently also likes to reuse song parts. Here are two of their songs, one on the right and one on the left. I kind of like it this way... How You Remind Me Of Someday
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!
