Im not getting a smooth continuing time bar

Excuse the lack of terms but the vertical line that pans left to right on the time rcording timeline chops 1.1 seconds consitently. Do I have to switch or unswitch something. When this happens I cant seem to record anything.

I also think Ive figured out the assigning the master bus issue. We'll see.

Try turning off all other programs running in the background.
    Turn off Microsoft System Sounds.
Turn of the screen saver and wallpaper.
Turn off any scheduled tasks that might be running, like auto defrag or virus scan.
Get off the internet and disable/turn off the modem then turn off any virus scanners that are running.
Turn off or disable the webcam. Disable any wireless things connected to the computer.
Might not help, but can't hurt. Maybe something is robbing resources from the processor while you're recording.
When you write, "I can't seem to record anything", does that mean the recording stops, or glitches occur in the recording, or it's just visually distracting but the recording is fine?

You guys are so indepth. Keep it up. I love it. I have someone coming over to make sence of what I cant explain because of lack of terms. Ive been running under aux1-2 if that makes any sence. The mixer has a usb RTN, return?, aux 1-2 have to be on. In sonar software he went to audio, MME, left mic. The "engineering part doesnt make sence yet but it will. Now I wonder about things like pre and post and why they are used but Ill come back to that. For now I can record, delete, rewind, the basics. I so frigin excited, for now.
