If you want real time audio to MIDI now then consider the Sonuus devices.  I have found mine to track guitar fairly well.

Imitone is supposed to be for voice not guitar. Would the Sonuus devices accept and track a voice as well as guitar?


Check out "Microfono midi" on YouTube for a fun example of voice to midi with Sonuus device.
