Import audio - Playing back wrong file?

Import audio - Playing back wrong file?

Here's one that has had me stumped for the last hour. 
 
Click on a file in the browser, preview. 
It's a guitar track, sounds correct. 
Import file
but sonar keeps importing/playing back and showing the wave form display as the bass track.
Ive tried all different variations of importing (drag, double click and file-import)
I've tried copying the file and importing from another location and it still does the same thing...
 
Import into another session and it's fine...
 
does this mean my session is corrupt some how?
 
Pissing me off to say the least.  This is the encore of 90 minute live recording from a show this weekend.  Have the remainder of the show mixed already. 
 
Any thoughts?

    Not sure what was happening, but it finally worked as expected.  Weird gfremlins I guess. 

    Usually a sign to call it a night :)
