Import audio files all go to one track?????

Hi  - when I import audio files into the blank area on the track area- all audio go in separate tracks and label nicely.
This used to happen also if highlighted a track (so first one dropped there)
Now when I highlight a track as the first import point - all files load onto that track.
I have looked for answers to this here and in the help section but cant find - - - any assisance would be appreciated.

To work around on X1 you have to realise that all the tracks are imported to one track and then drag them onto new Tracks.

    A bit rubbish I know....but hey...thats what I did until X2a came along

This is a basic feature that SONAR should handle.Try to backlevel the updates on SONAR and see if the update is responsible for this behavior or not. If so, then you have figured it out. If not, call Roland Tech support.

fwiw - I am on X1d and X2a and files import fine as you would expect them. Stereo files import as stereo and mono import as mono.

I import allot of files daily in Sonar and they all go into different tracks. If yours are going into one track, please explain how your doing it as I cannot replicate your problem

This happened to me on X1b....

Maybe its a bug there I dunno, but once I upgraded to X2 it worked.

(I am constantly importing sometimes 30 or 40 stems a time into Sonar and found this VERY annoying with X1b

Sonar inserts the audio to whatever track you have selected. So all you have to do is create a template with a bunch of audio tracks, select track 1 and File-Import Audio will go on track 1, then select track 2 and File-Import audio will go on track 2, and so on.
