Important UnderTow's X1 Suggestion
- Edit Filter should have an "All" option. (As in Show All). This would basically revert to the behaviour prior to X1. - The Old Show/Hide Envelopes menu (Part of the Envelope Tool) should be returned. Probably under the new Track Views Menu. Now I want to add another suggestion when editing from the piano roll, happens that I'm editing and copying some notes or events, then select a position in the window and paste...Sonar paste my MIDI events from the Piano Roll in another track, maybe and audio track, jaja!!!(probably a track selected in the main window before I started to work on a new piano roll track/window) not sense at all...

While I'm not against any of the suggestions is it so you can copy & paste more than one envelope by any chance? If you're referring to his example of the "dumbing down" of Sonar on the Gearslutz thread I wouldn't pay too much attention as he's simply wrong. Of course you can cut & paste all envelopes, in fact it's probably harder to do just one but it does depend on how you have X1 set up. Ref your pasting problem, the paste will always happen in the active track unless you specify otherwise in the advanced paste options. I think that's fairly logical, if it pasted to some completely random track I can see how that would be confusing.

Sorry for being confusing, I was asking a question about the first part of your post reference the edit filter and answering your second part as well. Even if you are working in the PRV the paste will always happen in the active track, unless you change it. I'm not sure how you could be working on a track in the PRV and it not be the active track though.

I don't necessarily want an "all" in the edit filter, but having multiselect in the edit filter would improve things. It would also include "all" as the ultimate result of multi-selecting every envelope. I certainly wouldn't object to an "all" feature in a multi-selectable edit filter.
The edit filter is also a cascading menu. Horrible things those. I haven't given too much thought on how to improve that, but there's got to be a way to avoid a cascading menu like that.

I don't much like the cascading menu either. It makes sense for the initial selection, I suppose, but once you've actually created an envelope, you should be able to select that from the top level, rather than have to go digging through the hierarchy again.

Ditto. Existing envelopes should bubble to the top for easier selection (assuming Shift+Click isn't cutting it). Studio One has a dedicated dialog box for envelope selection with an Explorer-like tree, but I honestly find it no better than a cascading menu since there's digging required in both cases. The only thing I can think is to have a tabbed dialog, or maybe the ability to filter out certain envelope types so that the initial list is shorter. Hmmm...

I like the idea that existing envelopes have their own place on the top level of the menu, that'd speed up selection if using the edit filter for selection. Have I mentioned I'd like to see a popup on mouseover on the ghosted data?

Have I mentioned I'd like to see a popup on mouseover on the ghosted data? Yup, I like that one too... But will this allow SONAR to sound better than PT? Apprently that's important.

I know what you're saying Steve, but how this can be implemented is causing me a fair bit of head scratching. Think of how many parameters exposed by Dimension Pro for example, how is it possible to group these logically inside the edit filter gui?
