Important questions that need to be answered!

Have you ever eaten something that was more than 2 years older than the expiration date?

Did you wonder why it tasted identical to a brand new one?

Have you found that hitting something that isn't working properly successfully fixes it (at least temporarily) more than 50% of the time?

Have you ever worried about what you might have said if someone told you they heard you talking in your sleep (or while under anesthesia)?

Have you ever gotten sick from eating too much healthy food?

Did you ever record yourself talking and listen to it played backwards to see if there were any hidden messages?

?segassem neddih yna erew ereht fi ees ot sdrawkcab deyalp ti ot netsil dna gniklat flesruoy drocer reve uoy diD

Have you ever taken a bath in jello and let it set so that it left an imprint of your body?

What would possess you to even think of such a thing?

What flavor did you use? (I like lime!)

Have you ever cleaned something without bothering to actually remove any dirt?

Have you ever accidentally called someone on the phone in your pocket without knowing it and have them hear you muttering to yourself?

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Have you ever eaten something that was more than 2 years older than the expiration date?
Yes. The oldest thing I ever ate were home canned pickles. My neighbor brought them over. He was 80 and said his mother canned them 30 years ago, this was in 83, so she canned them in the 50's. They were a little mushy, but otherwise ok.
Did you wonder why it tasted identical to a brand new one?
Nope. Certain things stay fresh for extended periods of time depending on how they were prepared.
Have you found that hitting something that isn't working properly successfully fixes it (at least temporarily) more than 50% of the time?
Yes. That's how I fix most things.
Have you ever worried about what you might have said if someone told you they heard you talking in your sleep (or while under anesthesia)?
Yes. I'm terrified to get a colonoscopy. What if I enjoy it and say so while under the influence?
Have you ever gotten sick from eating too much healthy food?
Yes. That shiznit will kill you man. I wanna know who the sick son of a goat was who made those Fiber One bars. O ... M ... G!
Did you ever record yourself talking and listen to it played backwards to see if there were any hidden messages?
Yes. You knew I had to answer this one! I've done extensive recordings with friends. Sometimes I'd pick up a guitar, someone would grab a tam, we'd all have vocal mics, and we'd record hours and hours of talking and jamming. I have found lots of things. There are two that stick out in my mind the most. One was a friend of mine just singing anything that came to mind. One thing he blurted out was Viet Nam rules! I dunno why, he dunno why, he just said it. Played it backwards and it says, clear as day, "Ooh Ronnie!". What was funny to us was, we had a friend who was a drummer named Ronnie, so being stupid kids, we got a real kick out of it. The second was the same friend. We were recording in his parents basement and his mom kept yelling down the steps interrupting us. He yells, "Would you shut the blank up please!" Played it backwards, "She'll blank the both of us." Again, clear as a bell. Coinkidink? Probably. But we sure got one hell of a laugh out of it. I have a couple dozen other ones I found too, but those were the best. I've always been fascinated with recording backwards (See the songs forum for my latest posting.). I think, well, ok, I know, my brain is wired wrong. I'm right handed but play guitar left handed, that's the first clue. Then there's the rest of it.

Have you ever taken a bath in jello and let it set so that it left an imprint of your body?
    No.
What would possess you to even think of such a thing?
    Prescription and/or non-prescription medications?
What flavor did you use? (I like lime!)
    N/A
Have you ever cleaned something without bothering to actually remove any dirt?
No. I'm a bit obsessive compulsive and it drives me insane when I see someone clean a window, vacuum, dust, etc etc and not get every last bit of debris. Seriously, it enrages me. If you're gonna do something, do it right!
Have you ever accidentally called someone on the phone in your pocket without knowing it and have them hear you muttering to yourself?
I don't know, although I have had several friends butt dial me.

    Yup

Nope. Use by dates are for wimps.

Have you found that hitting something that isn't working properly successfully fixes it (at least temporarily) more than 50% of the time?

Nah, she just gets all moody and then I have to get my own dinner.

Have you ever worried about what you might have said if someone told you they heard you talking in your sleep (or while under anesthesia)?

Nope. No-one ever listens to what I say anyway.

Have you ever gotten sick from eating too much healthy food?

Healthy Food ? You mean like chocolate that hasn't been deep fried first ?

Did you ever record yourself talking and listen to it played backwards to see if there were any hidden messages?

    Yep.

    .peY No message this time

Have you ever taken a bath in jello and let it set so that it left an imprint of your body?

Nah, even I couldn't sit still long enough (Mrs P begs to differ apparently)

What would possess you to even think of such a thing?

    Why not ?

What flavor did you use? (I like lime!)

    Would have to be raspberry.

Have you ever cleaned something without bothering to actually remove any dirt?

You mean like when you're in the bath "cleaning" yourself ?.....

Not that? Oh, well in that case, erm ....no !

Have you ever accidentally called someone on the phone in your pocket without knowing it and have them hear you muttering to yourself?

No, don't have any friends. See above.

Bub I suspect you talk about yourself a lot when talking backwards.
It's been quite a while ago since we did those recordings so I don't really remember. The only ones that I do remember are the two I mentioned because they were so darn funny to us at the time.
My looper pedal can do backwards stuff, but I sort of always forget to play around with it. It has a mic input too. Hmm.
I took my Sony Walkman tape player in to electronics class when I was in high school and rewired it so when you hit the switch sides button, the tape head would not activate on side B but rather stay activated on side A, which was now running in reverse.

Funny thing, while we're on the subject ... it never happened to me. Out of the 10 hours of recordings, not once did it happen to me, just two of my friends. There were 5 of us, and it only happened with two guys. Out of all the stuff I've ever recorded over the years, I've never found a single thing, except when it was intentional of course.

When my wife gets really stressed about something she'll talk gibberish in her sleep. She was studying to get her Engineering License a few months ago. The test was 12+ hours long and she was really worried about it. She'd study for hours on end, we'd go to bed, and she'd start yapping away as soon as she fell asleep. She used to do it when she was in college years ago too.

Is this another question about Cannibalism?  If not, nevermind.

Did you wonder why it tasted identical to a brand new one?
    BBQ sauce helps.

Have you found that hitting something that isn't working properly successfully fixes it (at least temporarily) more than 50% of the time?
Old TVs - Yes, Coworkers - No.  Nothing fixes them.
Have you ever worried about what you might have said if someone told you they heard you talking in your sleep (or while under anesthesia)?
    Worried?  No.  Interested?  Yes.
Have you ever gotten sick from eating too much healthy food?
Everyime I was force fed eggs as a kid.  I would have welcomed waterboarding.

Did you ever record yourself talking and listen to it played backwards to see if there were any hidden messages?
I usually end up with hidden messages just playing it forwards.

Lime is good, but I'm holding out for becan flavour.

    Wait.  You remove the dirt?
