Importing WAV Files

I have some sound effects I purchased in WAV format and used in an older version of Sonar.  I am trying to import these into a song in X1.  Most of them work, but two do not.

I can play any of them just fine with Windows Media Player; however, when I drag them into X1, some of them work—I see the wave and can hear the audio—and some do not—I see nothing and hear nothing in the track where I dropped them.  I tried doing this from X1's media browser and also by dragging and dropping directly from Windows Explorer.

Any ideas what I might be overlooking that would explain this?  I would really like to use these short files.

Note: When I drag the files, I see the + sign and icon, but when I drop, there's nothing there.  In other words, the clips that work and the ones that don't work act exactly the same until I drop them.  Also, I can right click the files and play them with Windows Media Player from inside Sonar X1.

What the heck is going on with this?

Thanks.

Oddly, autoplay doesn't work for any of the clips in this set, although some load OK.  All will play by right-clicking and selecting Play.

    Weird, isn't it?

Resolved:  In Preferences | Files | Audio Data, there is an option called "Always Import Broadcast Files at Their Original Timestamp."  It turns out these clips were dropping into measure 814—way, way beyond the end of the project.

I unchecked this option and everything works.

I was not aware these were broadcast files—I bought them from a sound effects supplier—but that fixed the issue.

I hope this helps someone else.

Yes, this did help someone else. I would have never figured this out.

    Thank you!

Yeah, that's the killer. That messes up everyone that tries to import broadcast waves. Glad you got it figured out.

    What is a broadcast wave?

    --Edit--
I should have searched first. Sorry.

    Found it here
