Importing audio creates marker 1000's of bars down the track
Hey there, been using Sonar 8 for a while now, finding it rather 'un-straightforward' in many aspects, however is alright. Problem: Very frequently when I import(or drag and drop) an audio file, the file appears over 1000 measures down the track and inserts a marker. Any clue how to stop it doing this??? Or why it is in fact doing this? It's becoming more than a nuisance having to scroll for ages in search of audio files being wildly positioned. Thanks in advance. ~Iron Keys

Welcome. Most likely checking "Import Broadcast Wav at timestamp" solves the problem. At least it usually does.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Firstly, thanks for the welcome! Secondly, thanks for the response! I shall have to try that next time. Any idea why it's happening?

It's because the files you're importing have time information in them. Do as Kalle suggested and you'll never have the problem again. If, in the future, you ever do need to import broadcast waves, just turn that option off before importing them.

In the future if this happens, instead of scrolling for ages just do a ctrl-a to select all, then F10 to move the now time to the end of the selection. Then you can cut what's there, rewind back to your project and paste it where you need it to be.

Thanks, guys. "It's because the files you're importing have time information in them." Thought it might be something to do with this! It's a remix project, so I'm guessing the track was from somewhere along that mark in its original project.
