Importing multiple CD audio tracks as one track

Using X1 Producer is it possible to import multiple CD audio tracks as one seamless track? I have a CD where each song is made up of 5 or more tracks and I need to import each song to one seamless track in X1.

U7600 @ 1.20 GHz
2 GB Ram
XP Pro

I don't know if this would help you or not.

My now ex-wife teaches group fitness classes, and I made up a bunch of music mix CD's for her over the years, using Sonar to do so.

What I did was to insert an audio track for each imported single track, then import 1 track to that audio track.

I would then insert a new audio track, and set the Now Time marker to the end of the first track, and import the 2nd CD track to the 2nd audio track.  I did things this way because I frequently had to edit out ends of tracks and beginning of subsequent tracks to maintain seamless rhythm for her fitness classes.

So, at the end of it all, I would have a number of audio tracks, 1 per tune, all staggered to follow each prior track's ending.

When complete, I would export each track as a separate file, then combine them with no gaps in between songs in Windows Media Player, to create her final mix CD's.

Would something like the above work for you?

If not, please explain a bit more what you are trying to do.

Sonar imports CD tracks to its own track. One after the other. Each new track should have one CD track in it. You can put them on one track if you like by clicking on one and moving it into position. Do the same for the others. I would have snap off. I don't know of an automatic way to do this.

    Bob,

I will give that a try tonight. I did try to patch it together but was having trouble getting the clips to line up end to end with no gap or overlap. If all else fails I will just have to record it in to the track.

    Thanks
    Devon

(Just incase anyone that can make this happen is listening) It would be nice if there was an edit option to align the start of a moved clip to the end of the clip to the left, needed when not you are not able to use measures.

Make sure you turned off snap to grid , you can put clips any old place you want. No need to record in real time, drag and drop. Also enable groove clips.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
As I was trying the suggestions to see what was going to work the best, it dawned on me to check what tools Sound Forge (which I have) has to import CD audio. I imported the audio into Sound Forge as one track, saved it as a wav file, imported that into X1 and all done. I should have thought of that last night! I guess that is what I get for working past my bed time. 8-)

This is a follow-up message on this subject. There is a tool in sonar that makes it easy to assemble the multiple clips together. It is snap to clip. On the control bar turn on snap to grid, then in snap to grid properties box on the control bar, select the clip icon. This is the icon just to the right of the midi icon. This turns on snap to clip and then it is easy to line up multiple clips end to end with no gaps or overlaps.
I am still climbing the learning curve on sonar. Just finished the watching the Sonar X1 Explained video, this was a great help. It has increased my quality of work and speed when working on my projects.  I highly recommend this video to any one that is new to Sonar X1. It is available from Cakewalk and groove3
