Importing presets for different versions of Dimension pro: need advice

Without knowing it I had used the DXI version of Dimension Pro for a number of projects, saving presets as all good men should do. This happened before I rearranged the display of plugin menus.

I am attempting to move to 64 bit windows for all and every.

On the 64 partition I have installed Sonar 32 and 64 bit. (Some Plugs will not work with 64, so I may need 32 for some projects. Oh, how reasonable.)

Booting the 32 bit OS, I exported all presets for each plugin that listed existing presets.

Including DP LE, DP pro DXI, and DP pro VST.

I then booted to the 64 partition and imported all presets for each plug.

When I get to DP I find I cannot import the 3 presets files into DP pro VST.

The LE presets will only import to DP LE.
The DXI presets will only import to DP DXI.
And the VST presets will only import to the VST.

This is annoying at best.

I opened the stand-alone version of DP and find no clear way to import, or create presets. Only loading and saving programs.

I want to stop using LE and the DXI versions. Obviously this can happen for new projects. But I do want to use some of the presets created in the LE and DXI versions.

Any ideas, comments, or commiserations?

J

Instead of using SONAR presets, you should save your Dim Pro settings as Programs, which are accessible in all versions. That's the only way I know of to do it, so you'll probably need to go back and resave them all as Programs.

Plus, you can also RUN Dim Pro Stand Alone. This may help your soughting out better.

    Thank you Scott.

    Oh how obvious.

Something to do when tonight watching Falling Skies,...

Oh that Sonar would have a "search" feature that could list all the plugins that are used by selected project files: Choose a directory and have a listing of all the plugs by project,...
