Importing video is a nightmare ;(

Is anyone else having one heck of a time trying to import videos? It's driving me nuts. I've tried so many different codecs, and constantly nothing works. I've gotten 1 AVI file compressed a certain way to open up, play and export just right, but sadly after I composed to it, I deleted the source file and now I'm digging around to find that sweet spot again with this new video by converting it a million different ways.

WMV imports just fine but it plays horribly (glitches and skips).

Everything else, every format, every codec, 99.9% of the time doesn't work.

I'm willing to concede that there is possibly a problem on my end with codec installation, but with all other players/software working just fine, I really doubt it...

I'm sorry to sound so heavy and aggravated, but as I said, this is really driving me nuts. I really love this software. A lot. I just want to use it :(

i convert every single video file I receive into a format that sonar can deal with smoothly and glitch free... It turns out that the IBM Motion JPEG is one of those. I have a program called AVS video converter that does this like clockwork. I made a preset for Sonar, and I can convert a feature-length film into the IBM Motion JPEG within about 20 minutes. Not too shabby, and I no longer have to constantly **** about Sonar not working well with video.

Only downside is that the IBM Motion JPEG codec looks pretty terrible. Whatev, who cares about picture :)

Quicktime is only 32 bit and I'm not sure that they will work inside SONAR x64.

I'd be happy to know I'm wrong though.

How does one animate the gif file?
There must be more than just copying the file which is all I did.
