Improbable Impromptu (remix)

When I posted my last one, PVC Popcorn, that turned out to be a very close match with a track Foxwolfen recently posted, so I mixed the two, it's one (long) phrase mixed in 5 times, all in slightly different spots for effect.

The name refers to the fact it's probably the first unintentional collab on this forum evah. I hadn't heard Foxwolfen's earlier.

Update: Remixed on my new monitors, not done entirely from scratch, but sounds a LOT better already to my ears.

It's under 'Collabs' in the player on my site (see link in my sig).

Its remarkable how well that fits.

I might not put my part in so soon. It seems to work much better later int he mix when it starts to build.

    Cheers

Yeah, I'll give it a remix. Was busy finishing my new one already. Little chill improv, for a change.

OK, reuploaded it and it's indeed nicer, I think - much nicer mix all around, and the end is OK now, too.

It sounds like a track from Animusic. Cool

hey Europop is alive and well. i can't hear where one starts and the other finishes. all i#'ll say is this needs a big electronic drum sound not the current acoustic one. and some Dutch guy and gal combo on vox, with a combined cartoon/reallife video. oh, and a dance routine, please...

I was amazed when I had both pieces running concurrently just at random. It's amazing to me how much of music is intertwinned.

    Neat collaboration.

Nice. Really great sonic pallets that you paint here. I enjoyed listening to it. Well done.

Well, at least some of those are in the works, currently working on stop-motion stuff, and playing around with vox-altering software.

Remixed this on my new monitors, hope it sounds a bit punchier and wider - it's not a full remix from scratch tho, and I still have to get to know these monitors better.

While this is not my cup of sonic tea, I still satnd in amazement at the notion of conceiving and creating this type of music. Your two pieces seem to mesh perfectly (not having heard fw's original piece). Great mix. And I respectfully disagree with Mark H: I prefer acoustic drums for this.

It's bouncy :-) the keys combined with that synth/vibraphone type of sound. Not my style, but I liked it too. Now is the time on Sprokets vhen vee dance.

Stereo effect is cool with the song bouncing around in my head. Good job.

i like it; the PVC sounds make a nice musical bed, the springy harpsichord type sounds blend and contrast perfectly, and the drums are slammin'.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated.

The drums aren't anything special, really. Bit of BIAB, bit of Session Drummer2, but I tried to max that sound by ear, so I am happy hearing that.
