Improve your HD monitor's image quality

Here is link to a site where the idea is explained better and there is also mentioned amd problem:
https://pcmonitors.info/a...n-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/
This is a little trick which lets you get better image quality if you have a HD LCD display and Nvidia's graphics adapter and you use HDMI connection. This is not like brand new info so you might have heard about this already but I just heard about this a couple of days ago. For some reason Nvidia has treated HD LCD monitors like HD tv:s which has made the HD LCD displays not show full spectrum of RGB colors when used the HDMI port. Colors are thus like washed out although I must confess I have not noticed a huge difference. This tip will fix it. In the new drivers Nvidia has added a thing called Dynamic Range control, which lets you use the full RGB color range for
applications on HD displays. You'll
find the option by going to Nvidia
Control Panel > Display > Adjust
Desktop Color Settings. There you need to select the setting 0-255. Unfortunately I am not at my computer so I cannot better advise how to do this. There have been unofficial tricks to do similar stuff but this is the official way. Remember you need newish drivers to do this.

The reason why I read about this trick now is I just got myself a new 23 inch HD display which I very much like after using for ages an old 19 incher CRT which probably was not so good for my eye balls. I was looking for some tips how to optimize my monitor and then I accidentally found this thread about washed out colors with HD LCDs when used with Nvidia GPU:s and HDMI ports.

I put here the link where this matter is explained better but you can use new drivers to accomplish the fix easier so you do not need to do the more difficult fixes :

I wonder why there was not a single comment (other than mine).:D Perhaps people did not want to hurt my feelings because they finally found out I had gone bonkers.:D

Well that is a pretty good reason. Also I am not blaming you guys. I just thought I had found a real revelation, but it seems I was a bit over excited about color. I forgot this a primarily a music Forums place:D

I have an NVidia card driving two identical displays.  One via HDMI, the other via standard DVI connector.

    They appear identical.

It is a nice find though and good of you to share

I was just messenger of news. Also IIRC newer drivers have the right settings already made.
