In 30 minutes I am going to Buy EZdrummer
this is what I ve been using for my drum work on my projects -- battery 3 (worked with it the last 2 years not really THAT happy with it but -- its an ok program for pop rock and classic rock) BFD a demo verion from a recording magaine -- only has one drum kit - but not a bad kit Session drummer - in sonar 6 and 7 -- havnt upgraded yet to 8 I will soon though And a roland dr rythm 660 drum machine ok SO in 30 minutes I am about to go to guitar center and pluck down 150 bucks for EZ drummer -- unless someone here can talk me out of it in the next 30 minutes -- or encorage me -- heck i might even buy the nashville expansion -- unless someone else talks me out of it so its 5:33 here chicago time -- u all have until 6:03 to talk me out of it -- encourage me -- or give me advice -- GO! Thanks Paul

Not yet. That's what I meant by R&B kit, Funk. I don't see it at Music123 although Toontracks site said last week it's shipping (today it does not seem to say that). Music123 would yeild $30 savings if I order by end of November.

ok -- time is up -- i am going to GC ok -- so the R and B kit -- I will check it out when i am there -- but i heard good things about the nashville kit -- hell does it matter -- if i like it...... eventually i'll get all the kits I forgot to mention I trigger all my midi drums with an alesis performance pad -- u can set up a kick pedal with it and a high hat -- so its close to playing a real set -- my next thing is to eventually get a a roland midi kit at some point down the road to use with the drum soft synths -- its kinda cool that alesis has all the old 80's sounds in it from their old machine ok -- well thanks for the help -- I'll let you know how it goes tonight when i banging away on them later Paul

Well until my "Funk" expansion pack is here I can revel in the wonderful and surreal video of Jabo, Clyde and Futureman etal... at Toon. Murky, milky white ever-talking belly in the darkest studio I've ever seen (and I been in plenty). I just love how Clyde can't (even tho he really doesn't show much interest) get a word in edge wise. Rave on, Jabo! You're right! It is all about the groove.

<< JUMPING UP AND DOWN IT'S DA BOMB!! I ve been playing with it all night. GC didnt have any of the expansion kits -- so I may check out sam ash and see what ones they have tomorrow or more than likely not until friday -- cuz of stuff to do for turkey day I like it better than battery 3 -- the midi groves are great -- I can use my alesis drum pads as a trigger -- it was east to set up and install -- Just really really inpressive for 150 bucks -- glad I brought it -- I will probably use battery if i do any hip hop stuff (blah) But for pop and rock this is the bomb -- been reading all kinds of good things about it forever -- should have done this sooner wooooo whoooo (slappin own azz and dancin) Thnx all Paull

it's a great sounding, simple programme that requires little effort. I use ezdrummer In this part of the world that really means nothing whatsoever It's drumming made easy. I asked them how they came up with name but no reply so far

I love EZ Drummer and the Nashville expansion is a must have, IMO but sure wish there was some way to speed the damn loading process up The Nashville exp is 331MB and takes a couple of minutes to load. That may not seem like much time but if you have any problems and Sonar kicks out, you'll have to load it back up. Come to think of it though, I haven't had to do that much since I installed 8.02.

I use EZ as a click track plus when I record. But I almost always go back and redo it to exactly fit the music. It is fun as a start, but maybe I am not smart enough to take it to the finish line as the patterns go - but I do use the drums in it a bunch - that and Battery 3. And real drums.

I picked up the Vintage expansion pack and like it. It has a softer (some may say duller) sound than the pop kit that comes with EZ. But it sits well in mixes that are not so in-your-face.

I want the Vintage Kit too after hearing the samples. Pro Tip, don't buy from Toontrack directly. Most online retailers have it for $149 with each pack for $69. I checked GC online and audiomidi.com and both were cheaper than TT online.

I am under the impression that I can use JamStix to create MIDI patterns files that I can route back through SONAR into Reason...true? If so, that could be a very nice combination... EDIT: Answered m own question, which is yes. Gonna check out the demo this weekend.
