In Absentia with apologies

Hey Folks- Sorry I haven't been around.  It's a long story (naturally), so here are the 'bullet points' if anyone's interested-

Several months ago, my significant other, Sue, and I decided to sell the house we lived in, so there was house hunting, and cleaning and getting rid of 20 years worth of junk, followed by packing, contracts, closings, mortgages, more packing and moving.

Has anyone ever had a move that went flawlessly?   We certainly didn't, and wound up with what looked more like a warehouse for boxes (BIG boxes) than a condo.  Then there was unpacking, and more unpacking and getting rid of moving boxes... and we're STILL unpacking.

We're barely in the new place for 2 days when Sue falls and fratures her pelvic bone.  This is followed by a week or 2 in the hospital for surgery, and then 2 weeks out in a physical rehab hospital.  I now have a great appreciation for the trials of working moms and homemakers everywhere as I had to take on ALL of the household chores including shopping, cooking, etc., and all of this while working a full time job.

Sue is making good progress in her recovery, but I'm still down for about 95% of the work.

AND... now I have to prepare to move again, albeit temporarily, to Nevada for the winter (I just can not handle another NY winter... no way).  I'll be bringing all my computer gear and most of my music equipment.

Hopefully, in about 5 or 6 weeks I should be back as a regular participant here, both listening/commenting as well as having some new material of my own to post.

Miss you all...

Regards,

"We're barely in the new place for 2 days when Sue falls and fratures her pelvic bone." WAIT A MINUTE! I just read that you were moving, which I knew. I'm really sorry to hear this :-( And another move to NV? Does it have to be NV? They have one of the worst problem levels in the US :-( Texas has one of the best economies, and has warm climates? I hope things turn around soon Phil.

Wow--that sounds like way too much fun to pack into a few weeks!  :(

So sorry to hear about all that, especially Sue.  So sad.  I hope she heals quickly and that you both get settled soon.

    Hi, Phil,

I'm glad that I spotted this post, I was actually thinking of PM'ing to check in with you, because you were MIA for quite a while.  Very sorry to hear about Sue's accident, and prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Take care, Phil, and sincere best wishes for the upcoming holidays!

Bet of luck Phil!  They say these things make us stronger but most of the time we're happy with how strong we were before we had to go through it.  LOL  You're a good man and I'm sure your wife is a good woman, who else would put up with a musician?  We look forward to mor music from you and I will pray that your struggles are minimum!  Give our best wishes to Sue for a speedy recovery.

I hope Sue heals up nicely.
