In Case it May Help Someone, How I Resolved Constant Melodyne Editor Crashes (I hope!)

Well, the title says it. I have Sonar Platinum, and I couldn't do anything with Melodyne Editor anymore. I had experienced some problems and crashes with it under X3e, but nothing like this. Blobs couldn't be separated, refused to move independently, behaved in other bizarre ways and, worst of all, it crashed/froze Sonar completely every single time within a few minutes of rebooting the whole computer and resetting everything.

I reset and rescanned all VSTs. No go. Copied the 4-measure vocal section I was most desperate to work on and pasted it into a new project, then opened Region Effects and applied Melodyne. Crash.

I had previously thought it might be my interface, so I had gone to Device Manager and asked it to look for an update. It came back declaring that my Octa-Capture already had the latest drivers. I didn't question this, but it turns out that I should have!

This evening, after two days of great frustration, with no other ideas to try out, I went to the Roland website. Lo and behold, there was an update (from 1.5.0 to 1.5.2). I uninstalled my old driver and installed it. Held my breath ... Melodyne Editor is now working as it should.

I just wanted to share that in case it may save someone else's nerves!
