In Limbo
Hi, I haven't been around for a while - been working day and night on my 'day job' all through September - so apologies for that. On Monday my son went into hospital for a kidney transplant and, although this is a good thing because he's been waiting for a kidney for a while, I've been feeling adrift because although everything seemed to go well during the operation we won't know if it's been successful for another few days yet. So this evening I sat at the piano for 5 minutes and this poured out of me... I've called it "In Limbo" for obvious reasons. WARNING--- it's quite melancholy, I take no responsibility for depression following a listen to this track. http://soundcloud.com/purplerhapsody/in-limbo Cheers, Terry.

Weird, Terry - I was thinking that I hadn't heard anything from you for a while. This is gorgeous. I am very happy to hear that your son has received a transplant, as a father myself I can't imagine what you must have been going through. I hope you hear something very soon and I know it will be good news. Daryl

Sometimes the most evocative work appears when we least expect, this is one of those works. Nice stuff Terry. PS Thinking of you, your son and the rest of your family sending positive vibes your way.

Awww! The song is wonderful and of course, given the circumstances; however, one gets ideas from all types of situations. Having said this, I hope all goes well.

G'day Terry, Nice tune, sad about your son. I understand the feelings of writing something under those feelings. As I am sure many others do. Mind me asking what piano that was played on?. And please don't tell me that is done via notation in the staves like Larry... LOL. Cheers, Tony

Terry, I was just thinking of you, too, and hoping you'd post something again soon. Sorry you've been working so much. I'll keep your son in my prayers...and all of you, that you'll have peace and strength in this waiting time. This is just beautiful...it amazes me what just comes out of you spontaneously. I love this! Tony...he played it live...and probably only this time, knowing him. :)

Thanks again for the kind words, prayers, and well wishes. Edward is currently recovering well from the operation although his new kidney has not 'woken up' yet - this is not unusual and it's only been 4 full days since the operation was finished. A couple of quick replies while I'm here: Tony: I use a Yamaha Clavinova CLP-130 which has an amazingly realistic touch and sound. I record the audio line out direct to Sonar and then add a little bit of reverb to give it some space. And as Janet suggested, I played it live. Janet: Yup, you know me well - I played it live. It was my fourth play through that was the one I recorded although the piece really didn't change much from the initial inspiration. Thanks again, your generosity of spirit is overwhelming. Cheers, Terry.
