Oh WOW! If I could pull off something half this exquisite I'd be one happy gal. Excellent job! I mean the mix, the vocals, the composition, the strings, the drums, the piano, the whole feel. Just beautiful. I signed up for Acidplanet just so I could download this song.

Janet- thanks so much, and it's ok to download Steve- thanks! I listened to "A Cakewalk in the Park"- superb! The Line 6 sounds amazing, if fact, I may just have to learn guitar so I can make that sound!

Beautiful composition. I like the singer too, but on this version I think the slight use of a de-esser would be helpful. Some constructive crits: One minor quibble: at times during the verse, it seems the piano line is just noodling and not really supporting the orchestra theme, or the vocal melody. If that is what you are going for, forget my comment. But it struck me as distracting from the power of the mood. The horns overall sound very synthy, while the strings sound real. Well done.

Mike - beautiful! the vocalist is awesome! I agree about the horns sounding synthy - but the strings sound really good. are these from your yamaha again? you never did tell me which keyboard you have - I'm assuming a motif? XS? ES?

James- thanks, and yes I agree the piano has a little too much at times, one of the things I plan to rework. And I hope to replace the horns eventually- good comments! Beagle- sorry about that, yes, its the motif XS, which has a very nice acoustic guitar (not heard in this version), and superb strings. The horns are synthy on synths, so I hope to replace it with better samples.

Outstanding production and arrangement, Mike. Marina's vocals sound great and I really like the strings. Yeah, the horns sound a little synthy, but they still sounded good and worked very well in this piece. This isn't the sort of song that I would normally critique, but it sounded great to my ears. Sounds like a lot of work went into this and you have excellent results to show for it!

She really has a very pretty voice; I mean "really", she's a great singer... And I say that as a singer (an ok one :-) I really enjoy the film noir vibe to this song. It's not disturbing, but it's close "in places", but in other places? It seems very uplifting? But that's not meant in any way as anything but a compliment (I know, an odd one). One "minor" comment, her representation stays "smooth" throughout, however the song creshendos? But the vocals don't seem to do so "with" the song? I would classify this as “sound track†music. It is epic, and befitting of a large cinematic production, a love scene perhaps. Oh hell! I just looked at the genere! I’d say you hit the mark sir!! LOL! “Outstandingâ€.

I saw the Cirque Du Soleil a few weeks back. This song was very much in a similar vein to the kind of music you will hear played during their shows. Very emotive. Well done. Cheers Shad

Very nice Michael - this arrangement along with Marina's voice is simply excellent. I really enjoyed listening, and even though it was over 7 minutes long, I didn't want it to end No crits from me - well done.
