In The Beginning...GOD
This is my latest creation and it is about the beginning of creation. Of course none of us were there, but for me, my mind likes to wander and delve into putting music to what is going on in my minds eye. So, here is the results of my creation piece. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13129715 "In The Beginning-GOD" As always your comments are always appreciated and welcomed. I hope you find this piece interesting, even though it is a bit long (6:30 min.). Thank you for listening. Peace and Blessings, John

Welp...I tell ya it sounds more like God just escaped his interrogation cell and is being chased through a labyrinthine underground tunnel by a blood thirsty horde of Mongols or some such only to find that when he breaks out into the open he's facing a storm of locusts and ghost mummies!! Don't really sound like he's got much time to be doin any creatin and light turnin on and void fillin kinda stuff. But still and all sounds like 90 minutes or so of one heckuva great action film and well worth five dollars at the local Bijou. Thumbs up!

yorolpal, thanks for listening and for the great comments. I couldn't help see that your minds eye vision of the piece was way different than mine. Guess that is why they call it part of the arts. Too many minds!! Glad it's my video and not yours. Thanks again and hope you found the piece fun. Peace and Blessings, John

Your arranging chops are top notch. But, as you allude, every piece of art means different things to different folks. That's what makes a horse race😀

I think you have a knack for making good movie music. We have evidence that creation was a sort of big bang that expanded and spread out and is still traveling outwards. It seems to have all started with one event billions of years ago that led to more events. The subject is further complicated by descriptions that might settle an 8 year olds mind but when you start to think about it the subject needs more explanation....but the book you read isn't a science book....so you either believe God made it or you don't I suppose. I think He made it...but "He" is a conglomerate as you allude to IMHO. Interesting subject I suppose we can't get into here.

I agree with synkrotron, I think it's stunning, and you have done a wonderful job. There is a definite correlation between the amount of work that has gone into your creation and the massive amount of creation at "the beginning", so I think in that regard it works brilliantly. It's a great listen, thanks for sharing.

Hi John, Excellent work. Love the horns and percussion solo. As I listened, the voices in the intro threw me. A choir before anything was made? Also, I was thinking about time. In the beginning, do you think there was time or was that created just after? So the intro might have been free form and then come together for the first day. Just my early morning comments. You did awesome.

Rimshot, Thanks for the listen!! As to the beginning voices, if there was a big bang theory, then He created it and all things were created whole and complete, all with its own seeds, just like the women and her own seed, birds of the air and their own seeds, trees and vegetation and their own seeds, the fish of the waters and their own seeds, etc; etc; etc. So, this is how I put this all together, based on my knowledge, the video in my minds eye and how I felt at the time. Hope this all makes better sense now. Peace and Blessings, John

I enjoyed that very much. I don't get the creation connection, either, but that's not important. Everybody's going to create their own mental movie. Mine's a sci-fi action/horror flick (Alien vs. Predator IV?) starring Halle Berry as a kick-ass ninja warrior in Spandex.

Firstly, yorolpal this is a really great, epic piece! For me the beginning was a little drawn out, but that's me. Dave - I read your post, then I got out the book of Genesis. I read and reread the first chapter several times. I tried hard to find Halle Berry in there somewhere but I just couldn't. I even have a degree in Theology so I got out a Hebrew Old Testament reference book and still couldn't find a hint of her anywhere. Oh well. I thought maybe you were onto something I missed.
