In The Doghouse Again (And Even A Few More Fixes)

Back to the Blues!  This is a little number about when we guys do something stupid and end up in the doghouse not even knowing why we are there.  Maybe that only happens to me?
 
I have done a couple of things that I'm not sure that I'm pleased with ---  so, I would be interested in your comments, crit.'s, etc.

    I listened to the end. I was feeling sad at the time because a friend is sick and I just found out.
     
    It was nice and easy. I enjoyed it.
     
    I also enjoyed some of the more experimental stuff you tried. I'm thinking of the synth work and the vocals near the end.
     
    It wasn't too busy imho.
     
    The various parts didn't seem to fight with each other.
     
    It did sound like it was composed by a single musician. Idk if it was, but it kinda had that sound.
     
    I think the thing that would liven it up the most would be to record the tune live with a friend where each of your are playing at least one part on each pass so you can interact musically.

    Freddy, sounds all a little muffled here and exceptionally dry, could only really hear the hi hat on the kit though other bits did burst through now and again, sounded like there was some good playing on it just could not quite make it all out.  Sorry.

    Nice song.
    I'm really not qualified to comment on EQing, but I'd suggest the vocals maybe need a lift to get them to stand out from the guitars.

    Hi Geoff.  I am sorry about your friend.  I hope he/she is doing better.  Yes, this is just a one person number and I have to take the blame.  I found your suggestion interesting and I'll have to play around with that a bit.  Thanks for listening and for the feedback. 
     
    Hey John.  Thanks for the feedback.  Your furry ears are usually on target --- so, I have EQ'ed the drums a bit and also brought them forward a bit.  Hopefully this will help it sound better.   I very much appreciate the feedback and thank for listening.
     
    Hi Mark (Masterofnone).  Thanks for listening and thanks for the suggestion.  I have pumped up the vocals and hopefully this will help the song.  I have also fooled around with some of the EQ'ing and panning of other instruments to get better separation.  Hopefully, this will also bring out the vocals. 
     
    Hey Mark (CLEAN).  Thanks buddy, I appreciate the very kind words.  I have to take a trip and try something different every once in a while (usually with less than adequate results) but the sounds of the Blues are always in my head and heart.  I'm glad to see you back on the forum!

    Freddy, I always enjoy hearing you do the blues.  This has your usual fine performances, but the mix isn't quite doing it for me, just yet.  The cymbals at the end of the song don't quite blend with the rest of the ensemble, and there is some muddiness in the overall sound.  Maybe a small cut of a db or two somewhere between 200-250 hz.  Otherwise, the laconic feel of this song just carries me away.  It just needs a little more salt.

    Hey Lynn.  You certainly have the ears, talent, and knowledge --- so, I very much appreciate your comments and suggestions. I have tweaked the EQ as suggested and hopefully it helped.  To me it certainly sounds better.  I also bumped up the tempo just a hint of a wee little bit. Hopefully, that will also help.  I haven't addressed the cymbals yet.  The drums are from WAV loops and the cymbals are recorded on the loop that way.  So, I'm going to have to find out which set of loops that I used and see if I can replace the ending loops or at least dampen the sound of the cymbals.  I know -  I know I should write those things down but I was having too much fun to spend time on details like that (my bad --lol).
