Indy 500 finish

Wow!

I didn't see it live... but the replay of the finish makes my toes tingle with excitement.

Yikes!

I may have to go drive fast.

The Indy finish was really stupid and would repeat itself later in the day with Dale Jr. in the Coke 600. Hildebrandt got caught up in the moment and lost attention to what he was doing in coming out of turn 4 at Indy. Just like Junior's pit crew being stupid and not paying attention to what they were doing with fuel levels at Charlotte. Only difference was Hildebrandt was a rookie and his mistake could almost be chalked up to that but Junior & crew should have known better.

How can you say it was stupid?

The context of racing is that your make your choice and you gamble on it... and some times it just doesn't work out.

Using your perspective I might extend the thought to suggest that everyone that didn't win was stupid... they must have made some bad decision to have performed so badly... and that the racers that started but really never had a chance were stupid for even showing up at the track.

It's racing... anything can happen... decisions are made in a split second... it's a gamble... and you let the chips fall where they end up.

I'm a racing fan... track and field, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, baby strollers... I like racing... it's a sport where anything and everything can and will happen.
