"...We'll be revealing pricing for this on Tuesday. It's probably not as expensive as you might think..." Hmm. How expensive do you think? The business model: charge a subscription to download as many samples as you want, and to allow users to submit samples for inclusion, for which submitters will presumably earn a royalty every time it's downloaded. It's the kind of ambitious plan that could be very successful, or fall flat if it doesn't reach critical mass. Will it be entirely "loopz and EDM" oriented? That's the biggest market, the one I'd pursue if it was my startup. But really, how many supersaws and risers does one need? I'm hoping it's broader than that.

How it works…
Noiiz is a subscription based platform for music producers that gives you unlimited access to world class content. Download as much as you like, when you like, without ever having to pay for a single sound again.Simply sign up today and start downloading sounds immediately!Download content worth $10k+ for just $89When you sign up for the Unlimited plan, you’ll get instant access to sound content valued at over $10k if you purchased the sounds separately. What’s more, new sounds are added every day from top brands like Samplephonics and sound designers like Richard Devine, meaning you’ll have a constant supply of fresh ideas to kickstart your productions with.50% OFF…for life! For one week only, you have the chance to join Noiiz for an incredible $89 per year for life, which is over 50% off the full price! This really is a one off deal and will never be available again once it’s over. Take this opportunity and sign up today whilst their is still time.EXCLUSIVE BONUS! Get 8,000+ free drums & FX samples if you sign up today. On top of this insane deal, we’re also throwing in a free pack of over 8,000 oneshot samples if you sign up for the deal before the end of the week! These sounds have never and will never be made available again, so you are getting a huge collection of rare sounds here, all part of the unlimited deal. What’s more, we’ve labelled these by brightness and mapped them to a whole load of sampler instrument formats so you can fire them up instantly and start creating. etc. So basically it's a plugin that accesses samples on their online database and uses them in real time rather than downloading. Not sure how I feel about that but I suppose it's the only way to do something like this. Ambitious but not for me.

Hey, hope you don't mind me chiming in here! My internet spies led me to this thread and I just wanted to give a bit of additional info as well as answer any more questions you might have. The plugin is available to all Unlimited members as an option, if it suits your workflow. It allows you to play back sounds in time and in key with your project as well as take advantage of all the browsing and search tools available on the website. However you can also use the website independently of the plugin and download sounds to your hard drive. If you like, you can download the entire library, then cancel your subscription. You'll still retain lifetime royalty free licenses for the sounds you downloaded, however you'll lose access to the website, the plugin and any new content uploaded. Hope that helps clarify, let me know if you have any more questions about how it works and I'd be happy to answer. Cheers! TerraSin How it works…

I just meant it's not for me as I don't typically use samples and oneshots in my music outside of sampler libraries. Are you guys not worried about people downloading the entire library and bailing then? Seems an odd business plan to allow someone to do that.

So I signed up for this, this discounted version was pretty much the right price point for me. Only thing I'd note they don't use/take Paypal. I had to provide a real credit card. Not sure exactly how the account issues will work. Download speeds are really good, appears to be using Amazon AWS (I have 150mb FiOS). The plugin isn't available yet (not even sure I'd use it) but you can browse/download sounds/packs directly. Right now there are about 288ish packs/products up(very rough count), it is not everything from Samplephonics but is a lot of stuff. The downloads are only the WAV versions, which is kind of disappointing. I know they have Acidized versions of some things for sale but they don't seem to be part of Noiiz. They do seem to have Sample Instruments included but all they seem to be is "load the loop into the sampler" type instruments. Everything is uncompressed WAV files. Kind of sad the world doesn't support some sort of lossless compression for WAV files. Nothing ever caught on there though. In the 90's the old monthly Sonic Foundry Acid loop subscription was a one of the few things I loved. I really enjoyed the surprise element of each monthly release, back when downloads weren't even an option. I don't use loops all that much anymore, I've moved on more to instruments, but I still enjoy mixing up loops. So this seemed worth trying. I kind of hope they adopt a bit more Netflix-like model. Where new materials are made available every month (and even some material being removed). I don't think they have said anything specific though about how exactly they plan to keep it interesting. I tried Splice (another service like this) for a bit, but the credit-based limit was a more hassle than I wanted. I spent way too much time trying to optimize my credits and not enough time using what I downloaded. Noiiz seems to avoid that. I'm looking forward to how it evolves in the next year.

The price is close to buying 2 Samplephonic libraries. I really like their stuff. Tempting but more loops is the last thing I need.

Hey - sorry my bad I misunderstood! The Unlimited downloads plan is a yearly plan, which should help us protect against people signing up for just a month and downloading everything. We do have a monthly plan also, but with a data cap on downloads.

Hey Adding new content and bringing on new artists, sound designers, musicians and labels is very much part of our plan going forward and something we see key to making the subscription model work. At the end of the day, if we don't continue to provide value, customers will just leave. Personally its something I think is really great about this model - it forces companies to keep innovating to stay in business. I hear what you are saying about wav only and uncompressed. We're looking in to other solutions and although we don't have anything concrete in terms of dates, taking the sounds beyond just standard wav loops is definitely on the cards. Let me know if you have any more questions! msorrels So I signed up for this, this discounted version was pretty much the right price point for me. Only thing I'd note they don't use/take Paypal. We're aiming to create a platform with Creators from all styles, including beyond music to sound design, field recordings etc. Our aim is to become a platform that facilitates other Creators to make great content for people to use, rather than a company that cherry picks the content. That being said, we'll still have a strict screening process in place to make sure everything is of the highest quality. bitflipper "...We'll be revealing pricing for this on Tuesday. Good question. We're not uploading synth patches right now, but we are looking into a more integrated solution for presets, MIDI, instruments and various other forms of content, as well as developing new formats. Following launch we'll be looking closely at all available options to expand Noiiz, so any ideas are welcome!

I actually use wave samples in my work everyday. Sometimes it's just faster and easier to get hits, transitions etc done with waves than with instruments and midi. :)

Interesting, thanks for the response. I'm obviously biased toward instruments as when I'm not lazy I make them. In my mind I'm thinking of someone hunting through orchestral samples to create a full symphonic piece. Let me see I need to find my C5 solo violin sample and then my legato E5 sample and slide it just a bit under the C5 sample, then I need to do the same thing for five strings sections, four brass sections and five woodwinds section. Then after finding, importing and manipulating 30 samples, I'll have half a second of music.

For that, instruments are way better. :) But for creating things more on the effect side (risers, downers, hits, transition) instruments are quite cumbersome. It's just neater to work with the audio than instruments. :)

That's very short sighted thinking. Virtual instruments and loops are tow different things.

Well I have an instrument or tow that seem to use wave files and I own several loops that seem to be wave files... So they might be somewhat related.

If you buy Zero-G loop libraries that come with "instruments". They take their loops and spread them across Kontakt or NN-XT.
